Perfectly optomized for Tropical Weather
by DiploWife on 12/13/2010.
Trim: 2010 Volvo XC90 3.2 R-Design, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
It is extremely comfortable, the R design seats are gorgeous and luxurious. Very Spacious, the seats fold down completely flat, they don't need to be removed like in our previous SUV. Can't say enough great things about the handling, (except the turn radius, see below) does exactly what I want it to do, and the ride is very smooth.
Cons:
The turn radius is HORRIBLE. What should be a u-turn is a 4 point turn and it only gets worse from there. (Despite the terrible turn radius, I don't find it difficult to park) Interior could use a little updating. The entire dash/console looks a little 1995 to me. Backup sensor would be much more helpful if it weren't so overly sensitive. I usually just turn it off.
Overall review:
We love it, and are very happy with our purchase. We have had the car for 8 months, we traded in a 2008 Yukon for it and although we loved the Yukon, we knew we would be moving to Honduras (husband is a diplomat) and wanted something a little less conspicuously American so as not to be mistaken for drug dealers. The size and handling seem tailor made for the roads in Tegucigalpa, the ground clearance is very good for the hills and potholes. It's a very comfortable SUV with more than enough room for a family of 3 and two large dogs.

Smooth and Stylish SUV
by JB in Spring on 11/17/2010.
Trim: 2010 Volvo XC90 3.2, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
It is a comfortable vehicle to drive an ride in. I am 6'4" and it has plenty of head and leg room.
Power is good for this size vehicle and fuel economy is averaging 24 on the highway and 18 around town. Smooth ride
Cons:
Visibility out the rear and side takes getting use to and head rest need to be down on the third row seats if they are not being used or it is really difficult to see behind.
Overall review:
We have owned the vehicle for 6 months and are overall pleased with the purchase. The vehicle is spacious for it's size. The climate control system works well and the entire vehicle cools well in the hot Houston summer heat. We looked at BMW, Acura, and Toyota, and this was the best value for under 40K.

Great Luxury SUV
by GizmoDude on 09/03/2010.
Trim: 2010 Volvo XC90 3.2, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Best looking Luxury SUV on the road BAR-NONE - Every other brand will appear dated in 2-3 years while the lines of the XC90 will continue to remain elegant and modern.
Safest SUV on the market - the only one I would want my family to be riding in, unless of course you care more about badges than the health and security of your kids.
Standard 7 seats - don't even bother getting an SUV unless it can hold more passengers than a sedan.
Most comfortable seats by any auto maker.
Load capacity is best in class.
Cons:
Would have liked to see more updated electronics like in the 2010 XC90 and XC60
Needs more storage compartments.
A little overpriced
Overall review:
If Family, Safety and Utility come first this is the best Luxury SUV.
