Pros:
Got the fully loaded TDI Golf and had to special order it-as dealers can't carry more than 2. It has a 6 speed manual and Dynaudio sound system with Navigation. THE SOUND IS WONDERFUL! In addition, I can believe the fit and finnish on this car. Compact yet roomy, great on gas and looks mean...you gotta enjoy the German way of car making. Always qulaity!
Cons:
Color choices. Black interior cloth or leather-extremely hot in FLA. BUT-the seats seem like they resist water. But not dog hair! Very low to the ground.
Overall review:
The gas mileage so far is 48 mpg! I was told by VW owners who have had previous model year TDI's that they can get up to 55 or 60 mpg depending upon the driving situation. After the motor breaks in it becomes more efficient and runs like a top. Fantastic little efficient pocket rocket! The wave of the future is technology we've had for over 70 years. It will take too long to get hydrogen up to par for civilian use...diesel is cleaner now and starting to make a comback.

Pros:
I really love this car. It is really snappy off the line because of the torque, and if traffic is good I can easily exceed 45 mpg on my commute. It's a fun car to drive, and the best looking Golf body style yet! And of course the fit and finish both inside and out is excellent.
Cons:
The only negative thing I can think of is that it is difficult to see the heater control function positions, especially at night. This is a very minor issue to an otherwise perfect car.
Overall review:
The new clean diesel is nothing like the vw diesels of the past. There is no black smoke at all out of the exhaust, and this engine has plenty of power. I have the DSG automatic, which you can "tip" into the manual mode and shift manually using the paddles on the steering wheel. The car is a blast to drive, and the diesel comes fully equipped with touch screen radio, multi function steering wheel, MDI port for plugging in your iPod, and factory bluetooth.

The peppy gas guzzler

Pros:
170 hp, lots of interior room, good quality materials throught. Looks good
Cons:
5 cyl engine fuel economy, made in Mexico, no hybrid option.
Overall review:
I'm a college graduate and majored as an automotive technician, so I went with this vehicle. This is a great car but I wonder why Volkswagen went wtih a 5 clyinder instead of a 4? If you have a heavy foot don't expect to get good gas milege because the 5 cylinder is bad at higher rpm. They should have just made the 2.5l a 4 cyl instead. It gets the gas milege of a v6 sedan.
Also this car is made in Mexico since they don't have any plants in the U.S, so I question the long term reliability even though I know some vw owners who have over 200,000km without any problems.

Pros:
Just purchased my VW Golf TDI 4-door about 3 weeks ago and I must say it is AMAZING!! From fit and finish (both interior and exterior), to driving and handling, performance, and of course fuel economy...this car has it all! Moreover, this car has performed well above average in various driving conditions from snow to rain or highway to dirt. Not to mention its pretty exceptional to be able to purchase $40 in diesel and get proportionally 550 miles ALL while I zip, zip, ZIP around! Exceptional car!!
Cons:
The arm rest could be raised approximately 3-4 inches.
Overall review:
I am so impressed with this vehicle that it makes me wonder why this is my first VW product...
