AWD Beast by Tony from NY on 08/05/2012. Trim: 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I absolutely love my evo. It is a blast to drive and great in all weather conditions. Handling, braking, accerlation and even comfortable. I enjoy driving it more and more.
Cons: Could use a larger gas tank and needs a 6th gear for highway driving and mpg. Paint seems to chip easily so I had a clear bra installed and still chips around that. Get the optional rockford fosgate system because stock radio is not great. Be careful buying a used one because most are modified and will void your warranty.
Overall review: You truly have to experience how great this car is. No one understand it and some people don't even know what is (which is why i love it) besides tuner people like wrx/sti people.

HIgh performance 4 door sedan. by Evo Daily Driver from Hampton Roads on 05/13/2012. Trim: 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Fast acceleration, handling second-to-none, and high top speed are the 3 most strongest attributes of the Evo X. With a price at under $38k, you get more performance compared to other high-performance cars that cost twice or even 3 times more. Better yet, throw in a few mods & a bit of mild tuning, it makes it even harder to beat & will still cost far less than the other performance cars in the market. Besides having the performance you normally won't find in a small 4 door sedan like the EVO, it is also very reliable and dependable. One winter, I made it straight up an icy bridge on SUMMER tires at a steady 35 mph while 4x4 SUVs and trucks were struggling, even going sideways on the bridge.
Cons: The EVO does have a few "cons". Don't expect high gas mileage of a Corolla or Civic. Although, I did achieve 24 mpg at a steady 70 mph which is not too bad for a Turbo AWD vehicle. The ride is also a bit stiff. It is the little sacrifice you make in exchange for outstanding handling. I also wish the driver's seat had a height adjustment feature. The stock Yokohama tires have the BEST grip but wear out quickly, cost too much to replace, and become loud after putting 3-4 k miles on them. The lights on the radio panel get washed out when sunlight shines on the dashboard. Other than what I have described, there are no other dislikes that I can think of about owning an Evo X.
Overall review: The Evo X is not for everyone. If you are willing to tolerate a bit of ride harshness along with a highway gas mileage that some economy cars have for the city, then the Evo X . . . (a car that can actually haul 4-5 people, perform and handle better than high performance cars costing 2-3 times more, and still provide the reliability and dependability of a Japanese import), is the car for you.

Even the Mitsu mechanic's recommended an STI by Disappointed on 09/22/2011. Trim: 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR, Owned 1 year.
Pros: This car is quick. Handles like a champ, feels solid and you can possibly do anything you want without worrying about weather conditions. Rain, Snow, Dry.. doesn't matter.
Cons: Car gave me problems at 10k, new engine at 17k after going to 2 different dealerships and not having a car for more than 100days. Mitsu Did not lemon, and I couldn't wait for a long trial and settled for very little money. Did not offer me a loner car so for 3 months. Rented out of pocket for 2 of those months once my secondary car stopped. After engine change, went back a few times and finally gave up. Car has a lot of black smoke, has completely stalled on me at a red light, and check engine has randomly gone off.... Interior rattles. Stock Advan tires/brake pads have horrible life,. 12 – 15k. Completely bald at 17k Hwy miles.... The engine is chain driven, clutch change = $2300.
Overall review: Over all, don’t buy this car unless you have money to spend without relying on warranty for anything. Go with STI, the engine is larger and just about all the tech's at two dealerships have expressed how horrible the design of this new engine really is. Not to mention how bad the Automatic transmission in the MR is. The 5spd needs a 6th for MPG's and but thats the only thing thats built solid on this car..... It's a Mitsubishi... That being said, a lot of people from older evo's have taken advantage of this struggling (US market) company and now they do not take care of their new customers (not to mention Evo's the best line of car's they offer so they should care a little). Warranty work is horrible. They literally wanted to know what color underwear I had on when the problems started. They fight you tooth and nail and blame the customer for everything.... Truthfully get an older Evo since it wont be under warranty and you won't be left with the illusion of warranty help. or STI..
