Thing of Beauty by Old Lead Foot, Barnesville,OH on 04/23/2010. Trim: 2010 GMC Canyon SLT Crew Cab 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Fit and finish is impeccable. The engines delivers such torque and pick up at any speed that there iit gives one a special feeling knowing what is under the hood. Beautiful paint and nice leather inside.

Cons: So far, nothing.

Overall review: The V-8 engine in this truck is remarkable. Decent gas mileage and runs on regular fuel unlike most engines with such power/torque. Overall finish of interior superior in comfort. Truck handles nice in turns with no sway whatsoever. I use my truck as my personal mode of transportation and it stands out regardless of where I go. Never fails that someone doesn't say: Nice Truck.

Why did I buy an American truck ? by Automotive Instructor on 02/12/2010. Trim: 2010 GMC Canyon SLE-1 Crew Cab 4WD, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The 5.3 has lots of power & great acceleration

Cons: Three interior trim parts fell off in the first week. The parking brake release came off in my hand the 2nd week. Has been to the dealer twice for loud front suspension noises. Just spent 4 days in the shop because the powertrain control module was shutting off the fuel pump & no one knew why.I only have 863 miles on my truck.

Overall review: Not too bad considering it was built by ticked off UAW workers who had just lost a large chunk of pay & benefits and as a result were not highly motivated. Definitely does not live up to GM claims of quality. With options it stickered at almost $33,000. Very poor fuel economy too.
