Acura TL, Luxury
by Ken on 09/18/2010.
Trim: 2010 Acura TL 5-Spd AT w/Tech Package, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Excellent car, power, road feel, quiet, spacious. Love the tech package. All comments are favorable from friends, family and strangers, its a looker. Ours is black on black and we upgraded the front grill and rear trunk skirt to chrome which matches the chrome around the windows and door handles. We drove a Lexus, way to soft of road feel, think of a giant Caddy with no road feel. We drove an Infinity and found it to be very simplistic regarding interior, felt like a much lower cost car inside, and a little small (G37). We also went after a car that had a 5 star rating no matter how it is hit.
Cons:
I would like the standard Tires and Wheels to be a bit better, such as 18" rather than 17".
As soon as these tires wear out I will upgrade to 18" or 19".
If your taking 5 people, put the shortest one in the center seat in the rear, head room is reduced in the center seat.
Overall review:
Excellent mid size luxury car, best for the money when compared to Lexus and Infinity. Infinity G has a slight edge in performance, but interior is far less in both space and features, kind a Nissan like. The Lexus, very nice but you are removed from the road as a drivers car.
If your after a luxury car that performs, and does not remove you from the drivers experience, this is it. Its quiet, roomy, full of features (technology package) and is very dependable, low maintenance car. Note, Acuras have a very high resale value as well.

Best for the price
by MD TL Owner on 01/15/2011.
Trim: 2010 Acura TL 6-Spd MT SH-AWD w/Tech Package, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Manual Transmission is perfectly spaced. AWD makes a huge difference in handling. The car is extremely fun to drive, torque is always on hand. The car works well in bad weather (rain and snow).
Cons:
The front grill (from the drivers seat it is fine). The suspension is a bit tight, the next model should have an adjustable suspension for when you want to cruise down the highway.
Overall review:
With the gadgets, reliability and the price you cannot go wrong with this vehicle.

Scoring A- for the ACURA TL
by JCinDC on 06/19/2010.
Trim: 2010 Acura TL 5-Spd AT, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Shortlisted Infi M37, Linc MKS, Subi Legacy and soon to be released Volvo S60, Saab 9-5, and Buick Regal GS against this base TL and was rocked by the value advantage. I didn't even wait for the latter 3 debut because @ 20% off MSRP and 0.9% finc'g, it's by far the best deal I would get at this price point for a very well rounded balance of luxury/performance. Just hit 30 day mark and 1300+ miles ink'g 2 long road trips and daily beltway commuting-- avg 23+mix/28+hwy at speeds well above appropriate. Car at first appeared nose heavy but is really sneaky fast and tracks/brakes well. TIPs: keep tires @ 31psi for a much smoother ride; skip the $3500 techpak and get 6CD in a 276W base radio.
Cons:
Of course, THE GRILLE is the single WORST feature of ANY car I've seen in my life. Someone related to corporate must be intimately vested in this GARRISH ATROCITY because it obviously needs to be canked immediately ink'g the designer who came up with it. I added the SPG insert which helps but not enough. I would also suggest heavier window glazing to reduce wind noise, a back-up parking alert, "follow-me" cornerning HID headlamps, a drop down rear seat, and wood options for dash sills and door inserts. Lastly, the trip computer protocols are somewhat cumbersome and counter-intuitive, and the 598 page owners manual is poorly written and inefficiently organized.
Overall review:
This is a great touring car with german attitude and asian fit/finish. Color choices make a HUGE difference in the look. I have Mayan Bronze with Parchment interior and it totally transforms the panache of the vehicle. The Grigio Metallic and Borealis Blue also are unique, but are very hard to find at least here in the northeast. The seats are oversized and I find them at or near the very top in class for contour/comfort based on four recent 4+hr holiday junkits. I drove the SH-AWD and found that ride more harsh with no appreciable performance advantage, albeit I did not try a 60mph slalom. I also found the techpak monitor obtrusive in size/glare and overly complicated in operation. The backup camera is cool but in the $3500 package, it just wasn't worth it to me. Bottom-line: base TL is the prudent choice and the model that dealers are most willing to heavily discount. I wound up paying $4800 less than what I did in 2002 for a new first generation Infi G35 with comparable specs.

2010 Acura TL (AT, Tech, 18" wheels)
by New Bern, NC on 01/07/2010.

Pros:
Best contender in the group (compared to a 3 series, C350 sport, Lexus ES & IS). In terms of features, fun-to-drive, resale value, and overall size the Acura was the obvious choice (despite not even being on my initial must-drive list). The Lexus has comparable resale and reliability but was "too soft" and the others lacked the technological sophistication and features at a comparable price point and I didn't want to spend the funds to go to an E Class or 5 series for a comparable size.
Cons:
The aluminum trim takes a bit of getting used to and the voice recognition doesn't always work how I want it to - but I think it's a learning curve on my end. My husband HATES the front badge, I kinda like it (and its my car), but we agree that it looks best in dark colors (mine is black on black). Strongly recommend the tech package and the 18" wheels look best (although they ride a bit more harshly and will cost more to replace). Higher grade fuel is pricey. I wanted to drive/compare an AWD model - but they didn't have it in the color scheme I wanted - and I really don't need it living in the SE.
Overall review:
As someone with a bad "car habit" (I change every 2/3 years / 50k miles) I am very pleased with my purchase. After numerous Hondas, a Volvo, and a Toyota (all of which were very good vehicles) this fits the bill for what I wanted. And it is lots of fun to drive - good get-up-and-go will likely get me and my lead foot in trouble.
