SUV or sports car for the snow? by Hugh in Denver on 02/28/2010. Trim: 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Sports car like performance; super quiet and smooth ride; fantastic acceleration & handling; greatly improved iDrive
Cons: Like everyone says the rear visibility IS bad. Everyone also say to get the camera but I just turned in an X5 with the camera and it didn't work 75% of the time (too dark or fogged up). I think the sensors are fine. The seats are FIRM so if you are looking for a cushy ride this might not be the vehicle for you. It's not cheap!
Overall review: I just (i.e. yesterday) got this vehicle. I looked at a Range Rover Sport, Mercedes ML, Acura MDX and Audi Q5. The X6 is amazing - it's more like a sports car than a SUV (my dry/warm weather car is a C6 Corvette). It is really quiet (maybe too quiet) and smooth as 80 MPH seems like nothing (do set that speed warning!) I have not yet tried it in the snow but with the new Xdrive system it's supposed to be good. The X6 was not originally on my list but if you don't need a lot of space you need to try it out. Note - I also test drove the 5.0 version and it's fantastic, too but unless you have that extra $11K burning a hole in your pocket the 3.5 will be adequate!

Bimmer is #1 in class again! by Misha S. on 12/04/2009. Trim: 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Really like performance, design, breaks. I've put over 16,000 miles since Nov., 08 - no problems, still feels and smells like brand new.Six cyl. has plenty of power, vehicle is extremely stable on the road, even without optional sport package.Navigation is fantastic, great projection system, very comfortable seating for both front and rear passangers, transmission is smooth - another example when bimmer wins it all!
Cons: Kind a poor rear visibility, so rear camera is strongly recommended.
Overall review: Some people say - 'It's girly looking half-car-half-SUV. Dead-end of car evolution.' DO NOT LISTEN to them! It's perfect (unless you need to fit 5+ people in it), it makes you DRIVE IT not to 'OPERATE' it!

Smiles for Miles.. by Mr. MO on 10/13/2009. Trim: 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Amazing car...The upgraded seat package is well worth it..The seats hug you as you acclerate, and hold you as you push it out of the turns...The car just wants to run!! Solid as a tank, yet with that unmistakable BMW road feel. They got it right with this one!
Cons: Upgrade options are very pricey, but seats and stereo system well worth it... Keyless entry should be standard on this level of car.
Overall review: Driving this car will make you smile! I got the twin turbo 6..plenty of responsive power. The 8 is kinda overkill...but if you have a company gas card, go for it.

Lovin the X6! by Riccio from California on 06/08/2009. Trim: 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Unique and beautiful styling, absolutely outstanding handling characteristics, bluetooth feature is fantastic! You will be stopped at gas stations and in parking lots by people asking you about the X6. It is not a "me too" car in traffic or in restaurant parking lots. Beautifully finsihed interior with gorgeous leather and wood trim. Easy to use, intuitive controls. I think it is the most attractive SUV/Crossover on the road today!
Cons: Could have better fuel economy - but I think It's my fault - this car begs to be driven too fast! I have to admit, I even had to set the Speed Limit Chime because the car is so solid and responsive, you will find yourself SPEEDING right along without realizing it. I just noticed - this "con" is really a big pro for those who love to drive.....
Overall review: A wonderful, satisfying car to own - not for soccer moms or people who need a cargo and people hauler - but a great car for someone who wants the driving visibility of an SUV with the driving experience of a great handling (think BMW 5 series) sedan. The engine has a wonderful, throaty song to sing without being a drone that irritates. Great passing ability, and a wonderful car to drive on a twisty road. Passengers love the rear seat with a real console to put their drinks and car keys in - and the ability to set their own interior temp as well. Everyone that has been a rear seat passenger LOVES this car. Do yourself a favor - go and test drive an X6 - if you can afford the somewhat high price point set by BMW, you won't regret selecting the X6 as your next car.
