No Attention to Details - Now Registered with NHTSA! by Disappointed in Ontario on 05/01/2010. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid HY1 Crew Cab 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The vehicle is tight and quiet. Gas mileage is not as advertised, but is getting better with age (now 7000 miles), averaging about 19 mpg in mixed city/highway.
Cons: The vehicle has lost the TCS/Stabilitrak/ABS and braking system twice in the past month. First time lost braking system at 70 mph. Luckily highway was empty. First fix was a patch only to have the exact same issue happen again in less than one month. Engineers "working out" the problem, suggesting that the BECM and full wiring harness should be replaced which "should" fix the problem. The "fix" is taking weeks - literally - to figure out. Not exactly inspiring.
Overall review: Should have been a great truck. Poor build quality in Mexico, and no QC meant missing seal could have resulted in major accident. Poor fix and problem happening a second time means now going for lemon law refund before the truck kills someone. What should have been the best pickup truck with combination of utility and reduced gas consumption has turned into a nightmare. Seems Toyota isn't the only one with braking issues!!

Think Green and Go Clean to the Hybrid Silverado by An MSN Autos Consumer on 02/14/2010. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid HY2 Crew Cab 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Always owner a Dodge in the past but bought a 4WD silverado in 2008. I watched the Hybrid come out but the price difference was so big to switch out early I did not get one last year. But with all the rebates and the fact the 2009 hybrid got bad reviews I was able to get a great deal on one. If you can buy one cheaply go for it. We own a prius and the driving techniques are similar. The milage is about 50% better than my 2008 4WD silverado. Clearly great if the price is comperable for the standard 4wd truck
Cons: Price is the only barrier otherwise it is better in many ways to the standard 4wd Silverado.
Overall review: Go get a 2009 now while they last with all the rebates.

Great Truck by Chevy for Life in Dallas on 03/24/2009. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid HY2 Crew Cab 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Only 2K mikes on it so far, but in the city not hard to keep the mileage in the high 20s or low 30s. Highway averages 22+. I was used to 10 -13 in the city and 17-18 on the highway on my 2007 Tahoe. Mileage right now is making up the extra $ for the payment.
Cons: Chevy could take some tips from Ford and Nissan. Need lights and a builtin step for the bed. Web site also noted the feature (standard) of the backup camera. When we ordered the truck, the camera was not available.
Overall review: If you are not averaging over the 20/;20 noted on the window sticker, you are not paying attention to your driving. This is a great truck with lots of promise. I watched the reviews on the Hybrid Tahoes for over a year before deciding on this truck. Only 2K mikes on it so far, but already seeing great things and expect to see even better things.

Fantastic Truck! by Carl, Tennessee on 02/17/2009. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid HY2 Crew Cab 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: A wonderful truck. I can't believe people trash this truck over the imports. When did Chevy ever make a bad truck? This is the most advanced pickup on the road with near Lexus fit and finish. If everyone would buy an American vehicle, instead of getting the Camry or Accord to fit in with whats considered the smart money move to the neighbors, this country would not be in the shape its in.
Cons: Everything cost too much including this truck........
Overall review: This truck is probably not as familiar to drive as the gas truck but after you adjust its great. Just the beginning of this technology.......
