The ultimate luxury sports car! by Bill from kansas city on 06/07/2009. Trim: 2009 Lexus IS F Sedan, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: I have owned the IS-F for 1 year and never get tired of driving it. It is very comfortable on the highway during regular driving and has amazing accerleration for passing or just for fun. This car doesn't start to feel the speed till you are well over 100mph. The sound sytem and comfort features are typical Lexus. The sports mode drive shifts gears much faster than you could do manually. The reliability of Lexus cars in general has been true for this car as well i.e. no problem at all after 1 year of driving. Also dispite being heavy on the accelerator,I have averaged over 18 mpg on combined city/highway driving.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Overall review: Excellent car!

Lexus durability and elegance meets supercar performance and horsepower. by James on 05/28/2009. Trim: 2009 Lexus IS F Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: The exterior is aggressive and the interior is luxurious. The touch screen makes it very easy to use. Most of the competition uses some form of knob which is a downgrade in my book. I’d say the most shocking thing beside the raw power and speed of this car is that it’s getting 19 to 27 miles to the gallon even with all the fun I’m having.
Cons: Like any car in this class, the suspension is tight and it takes a while to get use to how stiff it is on bumpy roads. On the flip side, it just glides on smooth roads. Some people complain about the lack of a true manual transmission. They don’t really know what they are talking about. There is no way you could shift as fast. A clutch is great for revving the engine and spinning tires. If you want to beat the guy next to you, this newer technology is the way to go. My biggest complaint is that the Mark Levingston sound system needs to learn how to play MP3 DVDs that are not DVD-A. You will need to plug in your iPod.
Overall review: When Lexus put 416 HP into one of their cars, it caught my attention. Lexus durability and elegance meets supercar performance and horsepower. While appearance and brand loyalty vary with each person, I wanted something racetrack ready that would stay out of the repair shop. There are days when I want to tear it up and there are days when I just want to relax and enjoy the ride. This car does both superbly. Put it in sport mode and engage manual shifting and the IS-F turns into a monster. Your passengers exclaim, “Wow that’s fast!” There is a smoothness to this car that makes what it does seem effortless. The roar turns heads, is intoxicating and goes away far too quickly on public roads. Very few cars on the road can give you a run for your money while most can only wave as you pass.
