I BOUGHT IT NEW AND I HAVE 26000 MILES ON IT NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, GREAT TRUCK AND COOL LOOKING!!!PRICE WAS VERY GOOD, I GOT IT FOR $4500.00 UNDER INVOICE OR I PAYED $16800.00 AFTER THE REBATES AND CASH BACK, GREAT DEAL AND WHAT A TRUCK!!!
Cons:
SEATS ARE A LITTLE HARD BUT COMFORTABLE NOT BAD. NEED TOO KEEP MAKING THEM! I SEE THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE THEM IN 2011
Overall review:
THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE TRUCK THAT RIDES AND FEELS LIKE A BIGGER ONE, I OWNED 98 CHEVY S-10 WITH A 4.3 V6 BEFORE THIS TRUCK AND IT WAS NOT HALF THE TRUCK AS THE RANGER IS WITH THE 4.0 V6!!! I HOPE THEY KEEP MAKING THEM I WILL BUY ANOTHER ONE WHEN IT IS TIME TO SELL THIS ONE, LOVE THE TRUCK!!!

I like this truck
by Craig in Colorado on 04/23/2010.
Trim: 2009 Ford Ranger XL 2WD, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
Fuel Economy (sometimes better than 30mpg)
Manueverability
Versatility
Comfort
Cons:
Power in mountains
Overall review:
I traded a 5 liter 86 F-150 for this 2.3 liter Ranger in a cash for clunkers deal. It was the lowest price model w/AC so it cost less than $9K with CFC and Ford rebate. This truck won't win any races but I absolutely love this thing. It is easy to drive, I have hauled several cords of wood over Berthoud Pass and still get 30+ mpg. I have a Jeep Cherokee and a car but I drive this whenever I can because it's fun and economical, not to mention handy to have.

Finally a vehicle that the money was well spent for
by California Desert rat on 12/15/2009.
Trim: 2009 Ford Ranger Sport SuperCab 4-Door 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
This is the second Ford Ranger I have owned and having grown up with Ford trucks on a Cattle Ranch I again have come to remember why I always go back to Ford for their trucks. The Ford Ranger drives like a car on the California interstates keeping up with all the cars with no issue, it climbs the mountains like a rocket sled. I have lost count how many times I have come out of a store to find someone standing in the parking lot staring at my truck. Keep at it Ford you just keep making those trucks the right way every time. The wife only complaint is that when she sits down in the Ranger the seat fits her like a glove and she wants to fall asleep.
Cons:
The only bad part I have to say is there is lots of wind noise at the frame where the front and back door joins and of course it is right at my ear; however, when you turn up the outstanding radio the noise goes away so its all good for me.
Overall review:
On a scale from one to ten I give the Ford Ranger Sport Super cab 4dr 2wd truck a ten plus. The wife and I Love it don't change a thing.

Nice small truck
by Florida Coastal Guy on 11/02/2009.
Trim: 2009 Ford Ranger XL SuperCab 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Good size to cruise around in unless you need a large truck.
Good gas mileage with 2.4L, 19+ city and 25+ interstate.
Cons:
Makes kind of a humming sound sometimes at idle (like at a long red light) and the dealer said this is normal, but seems to get less and less with more miles.
With the 2.4L there is a little loss of power on long, steeper hills (TN, NC) on the interstate. It wants to downshift (there goes the gas mileage) unless you let it slow down some.
On level ground FL, no problem.
Overall review:
With 3,000 miles, so far so good. I am happy wth it for the money.
The extra cab is a must have.
I had a Line-X bed liner put in and very happy with it...much better than the plastic ones.
