Completely Indestructable by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/24/2012. Trim: 1996 Honda Civic DX Coupe, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Lot's of character! Good engine note, responsive, a real money saver, soft dashboard, not a THING went wrong after 16 years of owning it. (Well engine wise anyway). I'm still running on the original headlight bulbs after 135,000 miles/ 16 years of mostly night driving. In fact only one light ever burnt out.
Cons: Seats are like old sofas, not much refinement to be found, rattles in the interior here and there, huge steering wheel is not suitable for those with lazy steering, A/C broke, very low back seats only suitable for children, A/C lighting on dashboard stopped functioning, had to replace factory speakers, sagging headliner, no tachometer, only 100 horsepower, two small buttons for the horn can be hard to find in the middle of a turn.
Overall review: Most definitely a teenager's car than anything else, with the lack of comfort it has, but it's not bad. If you're looking for something not quite sporty, but peppy, along with gas savings, this is your car! The gas pedal is very touchy and sensitive, so it gives the illusion of power IMO. Good brake feel too. It might not be as refined as a Toyota, but it sure puts a Corolla to shame once you start the engine.

Very dependable and reliable car. by CarFanatic, NJ on 05/26/2002. Trim: 1996 Honda Civic LX Sedan, Owned 6 years.
Pros: It is a very reliable vehicle. I have been through 2 very strong snowstorms, and this vehicle worked flawlessly.
Cons: Space. It was a great vehicle when I was younger, but now I am looking to get a much roomier automobile. Perhaps with a V6.
Overall review: Overall, I am very satisfied with my vehicle. I would advise the purchasers of this vehicle to make sure they know where the vehicle was assembled for it is a little troublesome trying to get the right parts for the right car. The easiest way to know this is by looking at the first 5 numbers in the VIN number.

No nonsense solid vehicle. by Quarant on 02/18/2012. Trim: 1996 Honda Civic CX Hatchback, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Solid. Very well engineered. This vehicle is the product of engineers that do not have an attitude problem and managers who know how to manage.
Cons: Water gets into the trunk via the taillight housing. The top of the seatbelt assy. gets knotted up. That is it !!!
Overall review: This vehicle is very solid with very few flaws. Enough said. period.

Great for students by Mom of 2 on 09/25/2009. Trim: 1996 Honda Civic EX Coupe, Owned 9 years.
Pros: It is cheap and reliable. I bought it in 2000 for $6700.00 and in the last 9 years all I have had to replace was tires, timing belt (preventive) exhaust, etc. I replaced the brakes last year and they were the originals. I have the 5 speed and it still has the original clutch.
Cons: After 180,000 miles there are a few qirks like the driver's side window falls off the track if opened, the hood pull cable handle broke off, the keyless entry doesn't stay working after being reprogrammed.
Overall review: This is the perfect car for a daily "to work and back" driver. It also travels long distances well-I took it from WI to FL and it was great. It has never left me stranded and I don't plan on seiing it until it's engine goes or it falls off it's wheels. THis car turned my husband into a Honda lover-he will only buy Hondas now. We also have a 1999 CR-V.
