My Favorite Car by Honda Lover from Wisconsin on 11/30/2010. Trim: 1996 Honda Accord EX V6 Sedan, Owned 5 years.
2
Pros: The V6 has great power behind it. Excellent handling and braking. No major problems with the car besides routine maintenance. I got it 5 years ago at 80,000 miles and it now has almost 170,000 and still running strong.
Cons: I have leather seats which are ripping apart at the corners and the A/C compressor seized up. Another problem was the front valve cover gasket starting leaking but that was an easy fix. The gas mileage is not the best but i guess that is the price to pay for having a V6, it gets about 23 mpg on average.
Overall review: I plan on purchasing only hondas for my future cars. I would recommend honda to anyone who wants a super reliable car that is also fun to drive.

I love my Honda Accord!! by MN mom of 2, Twin Cities, MN on 08/21/2006. Trim: 1996 Honda Accord EX Sedan, Owned 3 years.

Pros: I LOVE THIS CAR!! I bought it in 2003 when I was expecting my first child. I went to the dealer wanting a Honda, not sure what exactly or even what year. I got it with 128,000 miles on it, my dad's mechanic told me that it would last at least another 100,000... he wasn't saying that to help the dealer I went to cuz he doesn't get along with them... anyway, he said to buy it cuz it wouldn't last on the lot long... I love the leather, the moonroof, the acceleration, the big truck (fits an old, huge double stroller). I love the locking, holding the key turned in the driver side unlocks all doors & unlocking the passenger side door unlocks all doors. 3 years later, it now has 178,000 miles!!
Cons: The transmission does shift a little hard but I don't see having to replace it anytime soon. Leaves and junk got up in the bottom of the car and needed to be cleaned out, which caused the a/c to drip inside instead of outside but all my husband did was clean it out. We haven't done anything too major it. Just the normal, like replacing of brakes and rotors. I love it and am so happy with it. I would like someday to own another one with a standard transmission so I am in control of the shifting... automatics just can't read your mind...
Overall review: It is still going strong!! I just love it and would recommend it to anyone!! I know I made a good choice. It has great gas mileage... I have had 30+ mpg. I use it to go home all the time, about a four hour trip. With two kids though, longer trips than that would be hard cuz it is a little cramped but it has served us so well and even though it holds its value, I don't see ever selling it. I plan on driving it into the ground.

Pros: everything is excellent on this car.

Overall review: very stylish, affordable. everyone looks good in it. very inexpensive on the repair side of the ownership. insurance is also cheap. the car is built for driving, not for auto repair shop storage.

1996 Honda Accord by Andy on 09/03/2003. Trim: 1996 Honda Accord DX Sedan, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Great Gas Mileage, roomy trunk, nice design.
Cons: Recall item caused major damage to engine. The front, driver side wheel skirting fell off around 73,000 miles while driving on the highway.
Overall review: Overall I think this car is great. I think my personal luck with not knowing about the recall item after buying the car used and the wheel skirting falling off (inexpensive to fix but scary when a piece like that falls off when you are traveling 75 mph)
