This is not a SUV... it's a car
by Davenfla on 05/30/2011.
Trim: 2009 Toyota Highlander Limited 4X2, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Easy driving vehicle , good visibility, great fit and finish. Wife loves it. Does everything well.
Cons:
Front driver seat does not offer enough thigh support. This is a station wagon that's taller... a very boring car. Does nothing outstanding but to the credit of Toyota it does nothing poorly.
Overall review:
Great car for women ... this is NOT a SUV it's a car. Drives like a car. handles like a car and if that's what you want this is a good choice. Wife uses this car for work, reasonably economical for it's size.

Trim: 2009 Toyota Highlander Sport 4X4, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Very strong V6 performance.
Cons:
This will be the last Toyota I will own in my lifetime! The vehicle is not even two years old, and it has been repaired 6 times. Alternator went at 30K. The AC went at 36K ( and we had to pay for it) . The head gasket is now gone! I wish I listened to my friend when she said toyoyas are junk!
Overall review:
I cannot even imagine having this peice of junk after the warranty is over.

Practicle Crossover.
by Bhanghi from Houston on 05/06/2010.
Trim: 2009 Toyota Highlander Base 4X2 V6, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Comfortable ride. Excellent mileage. Got anywhere from 27 to 29 mpg on the highway. Roundtrip from Houston to Newark. This is with six cylinders. Nothing has gone wrong for the last 15K miles.
Cons:
Did not like paying extra for roof cross rails. Cross rails cause a loud wind noise. Blind spots on driver side causing problems during lane change.
Overall review:
Reliable, comfortable and excellent mileage.
