Best SUV Around!
by Melissa, Houston on 10/19/2009.
Trim: 2009 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0L 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
I'm on my second Explorer, and this is by far the best car I've had. I think you also get more for your money with an Explorer. It handle's wonderfully, the interior is comfortable and the electronics are user friendly. For my situation, I feel it is very roomy and has enough space for packing and hauling. I also feel the gas mileage is great. I know it is an SUV and uses gas faster than a car, but I think it gets great gas mileage for the size. Lastly, Ford is a economically a solid company.
Cons:
Honestly, none.
Overall review:
I recommend an Explorer for anyone needing a midsize SUV.

My initial plan was to buy a ford escape for my wife but then i ended up buying a esacpe and a explorer. It just caught my eye. On the road its jsut awesome a nice smooth V8 and good towinf capacity.
Cons:
If u load it up it can get close to 45 grand but its definitely worth it and idc about gas prices

Love my Explorer
by David on 02/24/2013.
Trim: 2009 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0L 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
For the money, it is hard to find a suv of this quality. True, there are others that get better fuel economy, but when you consider the price tag to get the additional mileage, the Explorer is the absolute winner. This is my fourth explorer and by far the best. I traded my last, a 2000, with 238,000 with only a transmission overhaul as a major expenditure.
Cons:
You know, I have only one real complaint-Ford did not put my sun glass holder in the overhead controls, probably due to the sun roof.
Overall review:
I would strongly urge everyone to try this vehicle before buying the more expensive gas savers.

Great SUV
by Dave from Grafton on 09/02/2012.
Trim: 2009 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0L 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Useful?
Pros:
The Explorer handles like a car in tight spaces but is capable of hauling as much as you want either shopping or on long trips. The four wheel drive is flawless, the safety features like electronic stability control and multiple airbags eliminate many of the earlier SUV high center of gravity issues. The controls are well laid out with many on the steering wheel, such as the cell phone hands free feature, the mysync entertainment system, and speed control. These features allow the driver to keep focused on the road. The interior is confortable and the ride is quite.
Cons:
Nothing
Overall review:
.I have owned the Explorer for three years and have put on 30 K miles. I live in a small hill town in upstate NY, we can get a lot of snow and ice. The Explorer will go through anything, I've never had to use low gear or put it in full time four wheel drive. The car has not needed any service and looks as good today as the day I bought it. It's solid very little road noise or interior squeaks. On long trip it's confortable and sitting high gives a good view of the road. I've driven in many SUVs that cost several thousand dollars more then the Explorer but none have been better
