Decent family sedan by Mike in Sacramento on 09/08/2009. Trim: 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid HEV, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Decent handling and acceleration, good fit and finish, relatively stylish, easy to maintain, able to negotiate with dealer plus good incentives and tas credits, frugal on gas.
Cons: Driver's seat has so-so comfort, trunk is tight with battery pack intrusion, optional features require pricy bundling.
Overall review: Not a bad sedan for a small family. A little tight with 3 kinds in the back, but still acceptable (since I don't have to sit there). Nice to only fill it up every 500-600 miles. Gets up and goes pretty good. And with all the

Green + Power + Style + Big Bucks =Nissan Altima Hybrid by Mr. Buyer's Remorse from Whitehall on 12/12/2009. Trim: 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid HEV, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: the combination of the gas & electric engines yield 198 horses. that is 23 more than a conventional gas only altima. therefore, this hybrid flies. there is power to spare. the toyota prius would have to eat this car's dust. but, that power comes at a price. the epa numbers are 35 city & 33 hghy. handling is 1st class, everything you would expect with rack & pinion , etc. but, there is an added standard feature: traction control ; i have just experienced driving this vehicle in 3.5" of snow. the wheels didn't spin, the car didn't slide. i thought i was still driving my chevy awd equinox.
Cons: In order to get all the cool options: backup camera, satellite radio, navigation, heated power leather seats, etc. you have to pay big bucks. a fully loaded nissan altima hybrid tops out at 35000. unfortunately, we were mesmerized by the financial inducements to purchase a hybrid that listed at 26700 that was completely devoid of options: 3500 rebate, 1510 dealer reduction, 2350 irs refund, and, the dealer even bought out our lease. we quickly found out that we made a BIG MISTAKE! not even auto daytime running headlights! we truly have buyer's remorse. lesson: if you are used to the latest options & creature comforts, do not buy a hybrid , just because it's a hybrid. this will get old fast!
Overall review: If you want a Hyrbrid and you still want power & style, buy the Atima Hybrid. You will be going green & still have the power & style you crave from a tradition vehicle. HOWEVER, be prepared to pay thousands extra for the nissan power & style. the altima hybrid is WAY BETTER looking than than the toyota prius & the altima hybrid is WAY faster than the prius, but the prius can be loaded w/all options and price out about 29000. Also, the prius's gas mileage is WAY better than the altima. the prius's avg: 49; altima's avg: 34. If you have the desire for a hybrid w/power & style AND you have the extra bucks, buy the altima hybrid. (note:nissan is having trouble moving their overpriced hybrids, so they continue to offer a 3500 rebate)

Glad It's Mine by Stuart (La Mesa, CA) on 07/04/2009. Trim: 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid HEV, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Performance exceeded my expectations. Of the three midsize hybrids I tested--including the Camry and Fusion--it was the only one that made my heart race.
Cons: The backseat and trunk are tight.
Overall review: A pleasure to drive, very luxurious-feeling, and great-looking. Highly recommended.
