Great car at a great price by Music lover from Omaha on 04/27/2013. Owned 4 years.
Useful?
Pros: This car is fun to drive and very comfortable. We have put 60000 miles on it in 3 years with zero repairs. I think the car is good looking although I've read complaints about the cheap plastic interior. Don't buy a car if you don't like the way it looks. The stereo is good. There is plenty of room for luggage, groceries, dogs...whatever. This is a great little car and we got it at a great price. Couldn't be happier.
Cons: No cons...well, it is not the greatest car for winter. I guess that's a con.
Overall review: I would recommend this car to anyone, but I still question reviews by owners who don't like the styling of either the interior or exterior. Why would you buy it if you hate it? We love ours.

Bang for the Buck by QuakerJ from Vandalia, IL on 09/24/2012. Trim: 2009 Dodge Caliber SRT4, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: Takes off like a rocket, handles like it's on rails and stops on a dime. SRT4 performance is unmatched in this market segment, car is simply a blast to drive while returning decent fuel economy. Interior and controls are nicely laid out. Audiophile sound quality from Kicker audio system. Outstanding built in navigation & U-connect bluetooth (for cellphone), both work great. 85k trouble free miles so far. This car is FUN, FUN, FUN, glad I bought it. I'm always looking for every excuse to go drive it, even with these outlandish gas prices.
Cons: SUV wannabe styling has the aerodynamic qualities of a flying brick, so despite the economic potential of a mid-size 4 cylinder (provided you drive it sanely) it turns out rather mediocre gas mileage. Hard plastic interior might have passed in 1978, but not since. The dashboard has a unique pattern which would have to be molded from hard plastic, so it can be excused (it looks quite nice), but no excuse for the door arm rests, center console and door sills. The $30 they saved was not worth it; leaves the car with a cheap feel, they could have done much better. Ride comfort leaves a lot to be desired, but it's a compromise as performance handling + cushy ride generally don't mix.
Overall review: As far as mileage, I average about 26-27, nearly all highway. I did not see much of an improvement going from a Supercharged '00 Pont Bonneville, which is a much larger, heavier car with bigger engine. As I mentioned, the ride can be harsh over poor road surfaces. On highway and well maintained roads it is a dream, nice firm feel and hardly any body roll around corners. It is definitely confidence inspiring and overall there is just a quality feel to it. Drivetrain seems well refined, clutch engagement and feel is near perfect. Engine does exhibit some NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) above 3,000rpm, but punch the throttle and it disappears and turns into all sorts of wonderful noises from the turbo and performance exhaust as it slams you into the seat. 1st gear is geared high (most likely to combat wheelspin from all the power), requires a fair amount of feathering when starting out on hills. Not perfect (no car is) but you get a LOT for your money. Did I mention I LOVE the car?

Good price, good MPG, roomy, loaded by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/12/2011. Trim: 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: Bought used with 22K miles, had over a year now. Got a great used price on it. Selling points were the power everything, ABS, traction control, 'autostick' shift on the fly CVT, sunroof, 17" tires, stereo with the fold out speakers in the liftgate & mini sub, cruise, over 30 MPG, high roof (I'm 6'2"), room for 4 large adults, lots of cargo room if you put all the sits down, and the 2.0 has descent pickup once you figure out to get the CVT to work with you.
Cons: The plastic feel all the interior surfaces have, sometimes the criuse control red lines the engine to maintain speed uphill on the highway, alot of road noise due to the plastic interior which isn't bad but noticable...and the big issue (which didn't turn away from the price the dealer was offering) is the fact that the seats and center console are the same bright cookie monster blue as the outside.
Overall review: If I was a teenager, I would like the blue, but approaching forty, not so much. The amount of options that Dodge crammed into such a low price with great MPG with a look thats...different...makes it not such a bad purchase. It's traveled from NYC to Atlanta back and forth twice and about to embarq on a third roundtrip and the car has handled itself well,

Could be beter. by Danny on 03/04/2011. Trim: 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned 2 years.
Useful?
Pros: Good car. Could get better gas mileage with the 1.8 liter.
Cons: The 1.8 liter lacks power especialy where there is a lot of hills to go up.Needs more h/p or a bigger engine.
Overall review: Besides lacking power, overall it is a good car.Lots of room and easy to drive.
