The Agile EG by JustinW from San Diego on 11/06/2011. Trim: 1994 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, Owned 7 years.
4
Pros: Gas mileage, affordability, reliability, convenience, comfort, visually appealing, extremely low maintenance, great resell value, and much more -- simply an incredible machine.
Cons: I honestly can't think of one. I mean, I wouldn't mind having more power, but 102 HP @ 2.2k lbs does the job, in my opinion.
Overall review: I have owned my EG for over 7 years now, and I have zero complaints. My car has 150k miles now, and is still getting incredible gas mileage. These vehicles require VERY minimal maintenance, and seem like they can run forever. My DX hatchback model weighs slightly over a ton, and is a very swift and agile ride @ 102 HP. My car has become as familiar to me as my own two legs -- the manual transmission and no power steering really makes the car feel as if it's just an extension of your own body. I would recommend this car to anyone -- love it!

"Black Beauty Laid to Rest" by Ton E from the Nati on 08/30/2007. Trim: 1994 Honda Civic DX Coupe, Owned 10 years.
2
Pros: Everything. So reliable and a gas sipper.
Cons: occasional Oxygen sensor or CV axle needs replaced, but that is normal.
Overall review: Poor Ole Black Beauty was laid to rest today. She had 287,354 miles under her belt. Couldn't quite make it to her goal of 300K. One of the best cars I've EVER had. Never let me down. Sad to see her go :( I have a 1996 Accord LX now with 123,000.....we have a long way to go to catch up to Black Beauty. HONDA'S ARE THE BEST CARS EVER!!!

A low-maintenance joy to drive by tim on 11/20/2008. Trim: 1994 Honda Civic EX Coupe, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros: I bought this car 6 years ago with 150K miles, and now it has 280K and is still driving like new. No maintenance other than belt/oil changes, tires, and a tune-up. The vtec engine is utterly perfect. Plenty of power, economical, and no problems whatsoever. The manual transmission never gave me a problem either. I make about 32mpg driving it hard, and 40mpg on the highway at 65 mph. Controls and dash are extremely well designed. The front seats are comfortable assuming you sit straight and don't slouch.
Cons: Paint is peeling off, and the body is rusting horribly with the michigan salt, but I think it was repainted before I bought it so that's understandable. Highway noise is a problem...these cars really could use a bit more sound insulation.
Overall review: A near-perfect car, other than a slightly noisy ride. The variable-assist power steering really sets Hondas apart when driving on the highway. When you are driving at highway speeds, you can let go of the wheel and hold it with your knee, and the car will still go straight no problem. Sentras and Corollas don't have this feature...you need to hold on to the wheel for dear life on the highway or the slightest wind will blow you off course.

Economical, comfortable and FUN to drive by RMJ on 09/29/2008. Trim: 1994 Honda Civic DX Sedan, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros: Extremely economical (40+ MPG hihgway, 33 MPG city); note - this is with 5 spd. manual trans. Good performance for small engine; very smooth running; great acceleration when you need it. Fold-down rear seat extends trunk space to over 7 ft. Good leg room in both front and rear (I'm 6' 2")
Cons: Nothing. I love it. Best car - dollar for dolllar - I've ever owned. I'll get a new Civic when this one finally dies, if it ever does.
Overall review: See "Cons," above.

The Economical Option by An MSN Autos Consumer on 07/01/2007. Trim: 1994 Honda Civic LX Sedan, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: The '94 Honda Civic LX is an amazing economical automobile. I've owned the car for a little under a year and i've had no major problems. All i've done is simple 3,000 oil changes, fill up the fluids when needed, and look at the filters. I get 31 mpg in the city and 35 on the freeway. It doesn't look that bad either, except the rust problem that plagues all Honda's, but that can easily be fixed with a paint job. The engine isn't too powerful but powerful enough to not redline at 7.2 rpms!
Cons: Besides the rust problem, the only major problem i've had was with the axle. I've had the CV joints replaced, but it's only the 2nd time they're been replaced. It's a really costly repair--around $400 dollars.
Overall review: Still an amazing car, nevertheless. Amazing gas mileage. Good engine. I'm approaching 154k! I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon...
