Pros:
Everything written by CONSUMERS REPORTS is very accurate except "Real-world fuel economy".
My 2004 has 36k miles on it and in June '09 I drove from Providence RI to North Conway New Hampture and got 27.4 m.p.g. and that was figured on actual calculations. If there is a luxury car that has at least 300 HP and gets that kind of milage, I am not aware of it.
Cons:
I'm 6'1" and the front seat is very uncomfortable for me. My wife is 5'9" and says it is the most comfortable seat she has ever sat in: go figure. The new XJ8s have redesigned seats and are much more comfortable.
Overall review:
The XJ8 is a truely great car that has gone unrecognized as such due to the Jags that went before. Mercades fit and finish and reliability don't match the Jag's as of recient years but the MB has the "rep"!
