Luxury with Speed and Grace by Fred from Dayville on 11/07/2009. Trim: 2009 Jaguar XJ8, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Everything written by CONSUMERS REPORTS is very accurate except "Real-world fuel economy". My 2004 has 36k miles on it and in June '09 I drove from Providence RI to North Conway New Hampture and got 27.4 m.p.g. and that was figured on actual calculations. If there is a luxury car that has at least 300 HP and gets that kind of milage, I am not aware of it.
Cons: I'm 6'1" and the front seat is very uncomfortable for me. My wife is 5'9" and says it is the most comfortable seat she has ever sat in: go figure. The new XJ8s have redesigned seats and are much more comfortable.
Overall review: The XJ8 is a truely great car that has gone unrecognized as such due to the Jags that went before. Mercades fit and finish and reliability don't match the Jag's as of recient years but the MB has the "rep"!

Classically elegant 2009 XJL Jaguar by John on 08/08/2013. Trim: 2009 Jaguar XJ8 L, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: This amazing Jaguar model, has been refined each year since being introduced in 2005. The ride of the XJ8L long wheelbase model is incomparable, and outclasses most every car in its class for a luxuriously smooth yet controlled and supple ride. The engine @ 300 hp is a few tenths of a second slower than the XJR 400hp version, but effortless and powerful. Sophisticated, classic and elegant Jaguar styling.
Cons: In 2009 the electronic display lacked some of the bells and whistles found in newer vehicles.
Overall review: Exceptionally elegant, powerful and luxuriously Jaguar.
