The Ultimate Car for the Rich to blend in with the poor...... by Renntech from Chicago on 01/22/2010. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Accent GLS 4-Door, Owned 1 year.
2
Pros: Warranty, Reliability, Features, Bare Bones, Styling, Comfort, Fuel Economy, Excellent Performance...
Cons: Lacks HP, but that is why I have several 500+hp cars in the garage to make up for it......
Overall review: I own several BMW M5's, Porsche Carreras, and Ferrari F430's....by far this is a stealthy econobox for the rich who don't want to appear rich....I mean who would know that I am a CEO in this car that's more reliable than a Toyota or Honda?

Hyundai accents its quality with the excellent Accent automobile! by GottaLoveIt from PA on 07/06/2010. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Accent GS 3-Door, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: The Accent may be small on the outside, but very roomy inside. Although it will not win any races, the engine is smooth and needs very little to quench its thirst. I purchased my vehicle approximately 1 year ago and am exceptionally pleased with it overall. The ride is comfortable and the air conditioning system works wonderfully. As for the sound system..what a surprise! I've owned many automobiles over the years and have never come accross such an exemplary factory audio experience that includes a 6 speaker system. Anyone who purchases the Accent GS 3-door would be well advised to replace the stock manual shifter mechanism with the B&M unit. You would not believe the improvement!
Cons: The only complaint that comes to mind is the fact that the black plastic trim and door panels tend to scuff up much too easily. However, after much research, I found the key to rectifying such a problem. The Original Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, used lightly, will remove the scuff marks with great ease. Other than that, the car is perfect for my needs.
Overall review: The fuel mileage continues to improve with the engine feeling more powerful as it is "broken in". Hyundai has done its homework when it comes to how to properly prepare the car for the best performance possible. A 1,200 mile "break-in" is highly recommended, and in doing so, has absolutely had a positive influence on how the vehicle is performing at this time. I am averaging close to 36 mpg accompanied by what feels to be an improvement in engine performance. This purchase has been one of the best, if not the best that I have made to date. A comfortable and controlled ride combined with the B&M short shifter kit and an excellent sounding stereo unit makes for a highly enjoyable automobile. When taking into consideration the generous warranty and 5 year roadside assistance, I could not ask for a better deal. I purchased my 2009 Accent during the CFC program from Hyundai of Greensburg. If you have a champaign taste on a beer budget, this car is for you. Try it...you'll buy it!!

Think it through before you buy. by Amy, Seattle on 11/02/2009. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Accent Base GS 3-Door, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: Undercoated from factory, dirt cheap, available bare-bones as far as luxury options. Good safety ratings, base model doesn't skimp on safety features. Comes in easy to maintain metallic colors. Gauge cluster is where it's supposed to be, unlike in the Yaris. Transmission is very precise. Excellent warranty (probably the only reason I felt comfortable purchasing the car). Comfy interior. Talked the dealer down to $8467 with floor mats and cargo net :) so my resale value is still higher than what I got the car for. Easy oil changes. So far, so good as far as reliability.
Cons: They could've juiced a little bit more HP out of a 1.6l with CVVT. Suspension is not made for performance driving, at all. Little aftermarket support, and what there is is mad expensive. Subpar gas mileage for a car of its class, even with grandma driving. Interior scratches a little easier than I would like. Geared very low for an economy car - I drive a 5spd and my tach is up to 3000rpm at 60mph. Doesn't make for very good highway mpg. Hydraulic clutch doesn't give feedback to tell when it's going out.
Overall review: Overall, I'm disappointed that a Honda was out of my budget. My next car will definitely be a Honda or Toyota, as I'm really not sure about the reliability of these cars. Some of the earlier years of this generation already have alternator issues, and I've never really been a fan of Hyundais. I made this purchase because my old car was pooping out on me, and these are the most affordable and best looking (IMO) small cars on the market right now. It gets the job done, which is all I need it for right now. There are as many cons to go along with the pros, but I'm more satisfied than I thought I was going to be. Just think it over before you buy, as I did.

Decent fuel efficiency and decent sticker price by Ontario Canada on 11/19/2008. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Accent GS 3-Door, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: style package (sun roof) reliability price interior style is great. does not feel cheap at all. factory undercoat. great for ontario canada where salt on the road is common.
Cons: Package (no cruise control on any package) Suspension is a bit stiff. Fuel economy can be better if comparing to competition. Would love to see direct injection engine and CV transmission for better fuel economy.
Overall review: I would recomend this car to anybody. I got top of the line, the most expensive 3 door accent. The package is great. However it does not have cruise control. I think if new accent will get better fuel milage and a bit better quality, they will much more popular. Hyundai accent should watch out for Ford Fiesta. It is just as good looking and has incredible fuel economy.
