My 2009Genesis by Wil from Monroe on 05/22/2011. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Purchased new 2009 Genesis 3.8L, loaded, two years now and loving it. Of course I have regualr maintenance as required only 15k miles, mostly used for highway travel. Gas milage ranges from 24 to 28 mpg depending on speed. At 65mpg avg about 28mpg at 70 about 24 to 25mpg. the only problem so far is the rear camera that goes out sometimes mainly caused my slaming the trunk instead of allowing gravity flow. I am amazed at the expression I get when people ask "what kind of car is that'? When I tell them its a hyundai Genesis, the expression is "oh". Not suprising because most people are hooked on name recognition. I just smile and conltinue on, I know I made the right choice for the money.
Cons: Lacks name recognition but gets plenty of attention
Overall review: 9.8 after two years and 15k miles mostly highway, 3.8 has plenty of power for a 6 cylinder

Affordable Luxury by G-Force from OK on 07/21/2011. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6L, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: The look, the feel, the price. This is the best bang-for-the-buck luxury car around. RWD power, 375hp, and all the plush amenities you can think of. The sound system is beautiful.
Cons: The fact that Hyundai decided not to separate the Genesis off into its own brand like the Japanese automakers. This car is in the league of Acura, Infiniti and Lexus.
Overall review: No matter how much anyone tells you that this car is wonderful, you won't truly understand until you actually drive one.

Genesis Sedan: Deserves more credit than the Hyundai name implies by An MSN Autos Consumer on 10/27/2009. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6L, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: I looked at many different cars, new and certified... and nothing "talked" to me. Once I finally drove a Genesis, I was stunned at how well it drove. This car is not a sports sedan in the way that a BMW 3-series is, but for the room, lower price, power, and features -- my interest in the BMW soon faded. Quiet (almost too quiet), smooth, and comfortable performer. 4.6L V8 is powerful and actually fuel efficient for a V8. Build quality is solid. Wind noise is non-existent at speeds under 30, and minimal at freeway speeds. Nav system is easy to use, Lexicon stereo is top notch. Seats are extremely comfortable - it's a 5 passenger car, but better serves 4 adults with limo-like rear seat space.
Cons: Needs cooled seat on passenger side too, Dunlop tires do help the car handle well, but does not help with road noise. Bridgestone offers a quieter tire that may be a better choice for this car. Hyundai dealers are still learning on how to differentiate Genesis customers vs other Hyundai buyers - a necessity to really compete with the service niceities that other makes offer, such as loaner cars. Other buyers should test drive the Genesis at different speeds and on rough road surfaces. This car is so quiet, ANY jolts in ride quality are even more pronounced in this car. My Hyundai dealer never reduced the tire pressures before turning over the keys - check tire pressures before test driving.
Overall review: The Genesis offers the quietness of a Lexus LS with the handling characteristics of a Lexus GS.The Genesis isn't for everyone - I don't describe it as a high-performance sport sedan. It is a smooth, fine luxury car that has a sporting nature. If you want more of a driver's car, buy a BMW 3-Series - they are very well balanced and well built; however, be prepared to pay a premium for the privliege to drive a BMW. In addition, the 3-Series is a much smaller package. If leasing, you will probably find better lease terms on a BNW, Mercedes, or Lexus (I drive over 30K miles per year). If you prefer to purchase for the long term, and you want a well-built luxury car that is roomy, fuel efficient, and unique at an attractive price, you need to drive the Genesis first. I sincerely doubt Genesis will be a fly-by-night name -you will hear more of the Genesis in coming years. I'm anxious to see how Hyundai takes their products upmarket.

What's not to Like? by New York City on 07/16/2009. Trim: 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6L, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Price, performance, fit, finish, warrany, styling and features make this car worthy of north American car of the year. Everything about this car is first class without the high cost associated with long term ownership of premium cars as BMW,MB & Lexus. A definite good value proposition for those who intend to keep the car a long time for the residual value will be adjusted closer to the premium cars costing far more new.
Cons: Nothing about this car stands out as a disappointment except gas mileage in the city could be better. It is not a status symbol if that matters to you.
Overall review: The net out is, that this is a perfect everyday driver for those of us that want luxury combined with good value. With the extra money saved I was able to buy a classic muscle car
