BMW M3 convertible by Mike from Bend OR on 03/22/2011. Trim: 2008 BMW M3 Convertible, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Both looks and performance are unmatched for your money. So much more refined and a slight handling edge over the Mustang GT...from the experts: For the definitive answer, we go to Randy's times: 87.67 seconds in the BMW to 87.76 seconds for the Ford. That's right, the difference between the fastest laps of the M3 and Mustang GT is, literally, less than an eye blink: 0.09 Read more at motortrend dot com and type in BMW M3 vs Mustang GT Recently, they pitted the mighty M3 against the Audi RS5 and Cadillac CTS-V, a triple throwdown the BMW handily won So if you want refinement and slight edge over the Mustang, spend the extra $26K or buy a slighed used 08 for the price of new GT
Cons: Gas mileage is bad... $4 gas is painful at the pump
Overall review: Driving an M3 will bring a smile to your face. The overall performance is truly unbelieveable but the handling is unbeatable. Confidence inspiring in every turn at almost any speed. After a year of ownership I'm itching to get in on a track at a driving school to really learn how to drive this remarkable machine without all of the stability controls on. I've tried turning them off and that is a big no no if you don't know what you're doing. You quickly realize they're for your protection to keep the beast in the cage. When off I've come very close to leaving the road on a number of occasions. For the record my M is a convertible so the added 400lbs will cause the purists to cry foul, but with the hardtop down in the summer is tough to beat and you can hear the rumble of the V8 whine and the exhaust howl the much easier.

///M3 a choice I will never regret choosing. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 02/05/2011. Trim: 2008 BMW M3 Coupe, Owned 3 years.
Pros: This car is a monster, I bought it in 2008 with 0 miles & today i have close to 60000 miles. In this time I haven't really experienced any major problems that would make me hate the car, in fact with every extra mile i drove i got to appreciate the M3 more. It might not be the fastest in its class, but its a car that's not made for just speed, it excels in turns & corners. The car gives u total feed back from the road and surroundings, you feel like you are one with the road. The interior isn't the best but is classy. The exterior stands out, but those uneducated in cars might mistake it as just a BMW. Its an eye catcher tho especially with that mean engine and exhaust tone.
Cons: I don't really dislike much in this car, the only thing that might stand out is its low MPG. But then again if you are getting a car with such performance you should expect the low MPGs. To add the more you drive it, the more you forgive it for chugging all that gas.
Overall review: In short, if you are looking for a great performance car, with amazing engineering at a good price trust me picking the M3 won't be a mistake. The other two cars in its price range are the C63 AMG & the RS5. The C63 AMG is not as nimble & doesn't deliver the same feedback & that its interior isn't that great from my perspective, yet it is very fast in straight lines & does out run an M3 in straight lines. But then again who said the fun was in Straight lines. The RS5 is one car that I haven't driven yet, but it is a bit more costly, so price might be the limitation, otherwise it can be a very good competitor as audi hasn't disappointed in the RS range. By getting it you get the benefit of the Quatro system but loose all the fun derived from a rear wheel car. The M3 makes you look like a pro driver even if you ain't, & the fact that its a rear wheel doesn't disappoint either, even in moderate snow with the right tires. I would never regret buying it & would do it all over again.

A true sports car that with a back seat. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 03/17/2009. Trim: 2008 BMW M3 Sedan, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The Handeling is amazing
Cons: Wish door locks where on the door instead of center console, but they had to put all weight in the middle of the car for handling. I'll live.
Overall review: This car gets more looks than any other sports car I've owned. It handles the best and I can take my kids to school in it. Very comfortable.

Sports car meet Psycho luxury car. by negcor on 12/18/2008. Trim: 2008 BMW M3 Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Fun engine. On the border of extreme, but completely usuable on a daily basis. Power oversteer when and if you want with neutrality through the corners. Race car meet luxury car. Mature , yet young and alive.
Cons: Headroom lacking a little. Front bumper too low. Feels a little heavy. Manual tranny a little notchy, but still great. Had an S4 and a previous generation M3. This car reminds me of both combined together and right in the middle.
Overall review: Best sports coupe in the $ range for people who appreciate engineering and technolgy
