Driving a TSX
by Ralph from Boston on 06/27/2011.
Trim: 2009 Acura TSX 5-Spd AT, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Right size. Good performance. Good mileage.
Comfortable seating for four. Great quality. Besides, it's a Honda
Cons:
Mirrors are not memory coded like the seats.
Overall review:
When I trade, I'll just ask for the newest model of the same car.

Should be a problem free everyday car.

Pros:
Very nice car. It performs flawless without a glitch. Seats are almost perfect. Ride is comfy. Handling is excellent. Audio system (the high-end system) is also very fine.
Cons:
A bit to high road noise!
My old SAAB 9-5 Griffin was much more quiet. Not to mention my Mercedes CL. I have to raise the voice when I talk to passengers on the highway. Not so in my old SAAB or Mercedes.
In Europe this car is marketed as Honda Accord (The US Honda Accord is a different car. Acura brand is not sold here. The Legend in Europe is sold as Honda Legend)
Corrosion protection is a BIG ? Wheel houses exposes the metal with only a thin layer of corrosion protecting asphalt.
I also fid it strange that Honda/Acura has not adopted LED rear brake lights on such a modern car. Most other premium car makers in Europe has and that includes BMW, Audi, Mercedes etc.
Overall review:
A very nice car. Honda (Acura) has a good reputation in sweden except for the corrosion protection.
To have a naturally aspirated engine, the TSX´s 200 HP 2.4 Inline 4 performs well, but it falls short of turbo cars that of course performs so much better. For everyday driving it is however absolutely adequate.

Best car when all things are considered

Pros:
Very dependable, lots of luxury features even for basic model. Dash and instrumentation boards very cool looking.
Cons:
low beam lights must be on to have fog lights on. Side mirrors a bit small. No digital speedometer
Overall review:
I test drove both this and the lexus IS250. Can't really tell any difference between the two in terms of acceleration for low speeds. This car has a 'S'ports mode which keeps the car in low gears even at high speeds and thus allow for very fast and responsive accelerations. Overall, this is a really good car for the price/power/fuel economy/room.

Affordable, Realiable, Luxury

Pros:
With this car, you get a lot of Bang for your Buck. So much standard luxury (incl Tech Package). I love the layout of the interior as well as the outside design. I absolutely love everything about this car other than what is written in the cons section. The interior is very comfortable (for the driver and front passenger). The HID headlights are very functional and cool looking.
Cons:
A few things: The rear brakes...I have had to replace them twice in 4 years. The road noise is a little louder than I would expect. The Bluetooth phone system and voice recognition is not great...but it's totally usable. The speakers are Alpine, which is great, but I have had 4 replaced (all under warranty). And this one may by too picky, but the right paddle shifter blocks driver visability of the intermittant wiper control...it's still easily usable but you can't see which direction to turn for fast/slow operation...really annoying...
Overall review:
I bought this car new and other than what was listed in the cons section all I have done was scheduled maintanence. This car is really fun to drive, and although the 6-cylinder version (2010 and later) are probably more fun (more HP more fun, right?)...the power and fuel efficiency combination you get with this car is spectacular.
