Pure Sports Car by Dave from Detroit on 09/26/2012. Trim: 2008 Lotus Elise Convertible SC, Owned 1 year.
Pros: An enthusiast's car. If you don't know what enthusiast is, the car is not for you.
Cons: Poor rear vision. Primitive, illegible instrumentation. Play, but not springyness in shifter. Seating comfortable, but not adjustible. Little cargo space.
Overall review: Buy it if you like tennis. If you do not want to get involved in the sport of driving, get a Mustang.

The honeymoon period never ends. by Pedalpounder from Silicon Valley on 06/05/2008. Trim: 2008 Lotus Elise Convertible, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Handling is superb. No power steering gives this lightweight car fantastic feedback. You become one with the vehicle.
Cons: Driving this car will spoil your driving experience with all other cars. It's loud - consider wearing ear plugs. If you can't afford frequent tire changes, it's not for you. For the Touring trim, you can get 13,000 miles out of rears and 25,000 miles out of fronts. For the sports trim, half that. Tires cost about 850$ for all 4 + installation. If you don't like people rolling down their window to ask how fast it goes, it's not for you.
Overall review: So you'll have to cancel your costco membership if this is your only car... but it can definitely be done. It does better than advertised MPG. I consistently get 26 MPG highway.
