Great Economy Car by An MSN Autos Consumer on 02/23/2012. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LS, Owned 3 years.
Pros: It is extremely roomy on the interior. I love the design, really cute car. The stereo system is great and it automatically comes with on-star. Have had car for 2 1/2 years with no mechanical issues.
Cons: It does not get the gas mileage it was listed as getting. It said 27-35, I believe, but I only get 25mpg. The plastic trim has fallen off twice.
Overall review: For the price of the car, it is a great car, but mine came fully loaded, as it was a demo. But it has good performance, for that caliber of car.

cash-for-clunkers rocked by mullah jim on 12/29/2011. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LS, Owned 2 years.
Pros: the gas mileage is very good. high 30's. i am still hoping for a 40. i have owned the car for 2 and a half years, and have had no problems yet.
Cons: here in minnesota, the car is pretty much undriveable in extreme winter conditions.on icy, slushy roads, i can't keep it on the highway. so sometimes i have to leave it at home.
Overall review: the car is a very good value. sporty, fun to drive. but not in a snowstorm.

Don't Get the 2009 Aveo by Mommyof3 on 09/01/2011. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LT, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Decently priced, affordable and good gas mileage
Cons: Me and my husband bought a 2009 chevy aveo 5 from a dealership. It only had 19000 miles on it. We drove it home and 8 hours after purchasing it, I took it to go get dinner and the check engine light came on and the engine started sputtering. The next day we took it to a mechanic because the 'hold' light was flashing and it kept stalling. It had transmission errors, break errors and misfiring. The dealer took it back, but that is an amazing amount of problems for a newer car.
Overall review: I will not purchase a Chevy Aveo new or used.

Love the Small Car! by LandShark on 06/18/2011. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LS, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Love the way this car handles on the freeway and curvy streets. Passes most cars going uphill easily at 70 mph. Car likes going 70 mph and is very smooth at that speed compared to 55-65 mph. Fits into the tight spots and stops on a dime when people aren't paying attention and swing over into my lane without looking. LOVE the OnStar and hope to never have to do without that again. Have used it twice in tire blowouts (see cons below), and service was excellent. The 5 speed is awesome despite the annoying shift up light. Worth the money!!!
Cons: I dislike the Hankook tires with a passion. Blew out one at 9,000 miles and the second one (the replacement for the one that blew) at 15,000 miles. Luckily I knew what I was getting into and bought tire & road hazard insurance from the Dealer. Shifts a little slow from third to fourth gear. Dislike that the replacement parts are extremely costly for a compact. Dislike the little shift up light.
Overall review: If you want muscle and 0-60 in 3 seconds, this is not the car for you. If you want good basic transportation that gets you from point a to point b without incedent, this is the car for you. Fits four people and goes just fine. Can hold 4 adults and a child too. :) The outer styling has nice lines, and the ease of cleaning the inside is wonderful. Has the 5 star crash rating and I've seen the cars after being wrecked, the passengers were not majorly hurt (WEAR YOUR SEATBELT PEOPLE). Will have this one until the Festiva, not Fiesta, returns. Then Ford will win my heart again.

Best Compromise by John from NC on 08/30/2010. Trim: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LT, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Leather interior is great, layout of cabin is comfortable, hard plastic dash is a breeze to keep clean and won't split, instrument panel is clear, visibility is outstanding.
Cons: Underpowered for anything but around town/commuting. This car was definitely not designed for highway travelling. Fuel effeciency is pretty low for a car this size: I believe this is also due to the engine...I've seen V6 get better mileage in bigger cars. Sun visors are too short to be of any use on side windows. I only got 20,000 miles from the 50,000 mile Hancooks that came with the car.
Overall review: Chevrolet hit the mark with a nice car for a real economy price. You can pay a lot more to get a little more car, but this car is a great compromise. The look and feel of the car is great...the only place you sacrifice with this car is the engine. Runs sound, but not very powerful.
