Pros:
I like the general set up of the car and size of the vehicle.
Cons:
This car has been nothing but problematic. Has been to the dealer for 3 different things besides oil changes and still under 14k miles. Resale value has plummeted beyond belief. The sad thing about it is, that you can see how great the car could be, if they had used quality parts it would be an amazing car.
Overall review:
Save your money buy something else.

Pros:
This is our 2nd Carolla and we are very pleased. Our 2009 doesn't have the acceleration the 2003 did but we love the way it looks and it is trouble free. We traded our 2003 with almost 100,000 miles and never stuck a dime into it. This one has 30,000 and has also been trouble free.
Cons:
The acceleration
Overall review:
It's a good looking car which we can afford, to buy and to drive.

Only average

Pros:
The gas mileage is very good. I average 33.5 in a mix of high way and city. The ride is quite smooth for a small car. Very few rattles if any. A/C is nice and cold. It has a roomy trunk. I expect to get well over a hundred thousand miles relatively trouble free.
Cons:
First off it is underpowered. Exceleration stinks. I suppose the 5 speed manual may help a bit. I bought the vehicle with 10000 miles on it. So far it has died on the highway due to a faulty wire harness. Dealer fixed for free. Engine light came on from a defect in the emission something or other. Dealer fixed for free. We had a lot of rain and windshield leaked water. Dealer again fixed for free. I believe that to be all of the bugs worked out. It only comes with rear drum brakes. That is a definate dissadvantage when compared with similar cars.
Overall review:
I rate this car as just above average. It needs refinement to the 1.8 liter engine. Fit and finish is good but not really better than any other new car. In comparison with a Civic, it definately looses. The civic is a far superior car. I should know, I had a 2006 EX and stupidly got rid of it for a pick up truck that I no longer even have. It was faster, quieter, and much more ergonomic. Night and day difference. Get the Civic, it is a superior vehicle.
