Pros:
Towiing and MPG. 3200lbs tow with auto trans. (yes 4 cylinder) Now have 17K miles.
Avg. MPG 18 city 25 highway. Best ever mpg 27.5
Cons:
Nothing. Rides better than a 2500 Chev.
Overall review:
This is the same as a Chevrolet Colorado. Dealer was 2k cheaper than a Chevy for same thing. This truck was a co-op venture with GM. Izuzu designed.

Driving this truck makes you want to "Go Farther" (like the ads said)
by PapaRick from the LA gulf coast on 03/18/2008.
Trim: 2008 Isuzu i-290 S Ext. Cab 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
1) History of longevity comparable/better than Toyota or Honda (especially for the money saved in the initial purchase).
2) Not much on this truck to "break" - no power package (windows, remote entry/alarm, and seats are all manual).
3) Nice surprises were the 2 half-doors to access the rear seats, cruise control, intermittent wipers, onboard (although limited) computer that displays "door," "low tire," "washer fluid low," etc.
4) Nice sound system for the cab size
5) And finally, the cost of this truck with a $4000 discount was about $5000 better than the best deal I could make on a similarly equipped Toyota.
Cons:
1) Wind noise is a bit high - but, only on windy days (weird, huh?). Aerodynamics are good at keeping driving noise down (better than my Honda Accord). But, today's side winds (30+ mph) were very noticeable.
2) No keyless entry/alarm.
3) The 60/40 bench seat means no center armrest/storage!
4) Needed tools for changing a tire are all screwed down! The jack is screwed under the drink holder in the rear and the tire tools are screwed under the passenger seat. It takes a good 2-3 minutes just to unscrew those before you can begin to lower the spare tire and actually get to changing one. Not a good feature when you're stuck on the side of a highway or somewhere where safety is a concern!
Overall review:
Overall, I'd give this truck a solid 9 on a 10 scale. Not having the creature comforts of power windows, seats, or a remote keyless entry/alarm can be added aftermarket (which I intend to do for the entry/alarm only). Otherwise, I'd get this truck again in a heartbeat!
