I really like my car!
by Maryland on 02/28/2011.
Trim: 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Everythng, I really like my car! I had a Camry previously and wanted something smaller and but still comfortable. This car has been a good commuter with style. I love the t-tech seats.
Cons:
Back seat is tight for some, I wouldn't recommend if you have a long trip and someone has to sit in the back. other than that, no Cons
Overall review:
If you want a fun car that's practical this is it

Not the best buy for the price
by TS on 12/23/2007.
Trim: 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
Looks nice (on the outside). Very solid... feels very safe
Cons:
Dash looks terrible. The center of the dash (housing the radio, etc) is not integrated into the console (looks very clunmsy and cheap). Rough-sounding engine
Overall review:
Rented this car for a week and drove it about a thousand miles. It drove pretty decently but was nowhere near a Camry or an accord or a Passat in quality

Above the average family car!
by CleanXS from Cyprus on 11/02/2009.
Trim: 2008 Volvo S40 T5, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
It is a family car with high sense of luxury without having to pay the huge prices of brands like BMW, Lexus and Mercedes, etc. Very reliable and you can easily sense the commitment of Volvo for "safety first". It is more than obvious that Volvo has spent hours and hours in designing the interior and has placed lots of little surprises in every corner.
Cons:
The exterior could have been much better especially the front part of the car.
Overall review:
If you are looking for a luxury car and reliability without spending huge amounts of money just for the name, go for it. I have driven a brand new BMW 3 series (2009) and has nothing more to offer plus the spaces are much less than S40.

The perfect design, combining the best of all worlds.
by ofortini on 10/30/2009.
Trim: 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Extremely comfortable and maneuverable. I can trust that my wife wil be safe behind the wheel, when I'm not there. A lot of peace for the mind. And it does not look like granpa's car or some suburban wagon to carry children about. The best of all worlds, peace of mind and the good looks.
Cons:
It's expensive and can't be serviced just anywhere. Changing the oil and filter is sometimes challenging. Also, the dealers sometimes forget to align the tires and you have to replace them at your own cost because of uneven wear. So, service is the only problem. Just make sure you find a good dealer to buy from.
Overall review:
Excellent car. Perfect design. Not too big, not too small. Very safe and easy to drive. Stylish and comfortable. You can enjoy the comforts of an old man, look as good as young man, drive as fast as a teenager, and be as happy as a child - all while being very safe. Best car ever.
