Very GOOD Truck. by An MSN Autos Consumer from LA, CA on 12/15/2007. Trim: 2008 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner Double Cab V6 Auto, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Good styling. Descent V6 Power. Very well built. Quality plastics (unlike any Ford, GM or Dodge).. You don’t feel like driving a truck. Feels like an SUV. Rides very smooth. I have TRD package. Was an expensive upgrade, but very well worth it. I enjoy every moment of driving My Tacoma. I'm sure You will too...
Cons: No locking tailgate, No locking Fuel door, No sunroof option. No leather seats, No power seats, No Aux input or MP3 Jack on Stereo.
Overall review: Owned for allmost 3 months. I don’t know how some people could rate this truck so low. Very good Quality. MPG is not so great, but comparing to 2003 Nissan Frontier 4cyl (my last truck) is fair. Frontier had no power and was doing 20-22 MPG. You have to drive like Grandma to get 18-20 MPG on V6 Tacoma. If you drive hard you will be 15-17 MPG range. Also did not see any difference on 87 octane or 91. Same MPG. But consider that this is a large and heavy truck even do drive like an SUV. Also 1 thing to mention.I bought Toyota factory alarm…it was waist of money. $600 Toyota factory alarm and don't have any of the simple features of any $300 “aftermarket” alarm. Like shock sensors or auto door looking when you start the engine or shift to drive mode. And when you turn on/off the alarm does not make any sound…only Trucks lights blink. I don’t know how this alarm will protect the truck if they open the tailgate that doesn’t have any lock. Complained directly to Toyota… They don’t care.

Great Truck by John from Bellevue on 04/29/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab, Owned 4 years.

Pros: I bought the 2WD SR5 model with the "convenience" package(air, cruise, privacy glass, siding rear window, rear mud flaps) in the Super White color. The dealer had to do some searching to find one that had the 2.7L 4 and 5 speed manual transmission I requested. I really like the gearing; the lower 2 gears are short and 3-5 are suprisingly tall for nice highway cruising at low RPM. This drive train delivers about 23 mpg from a combination of city and freeway driving or another way of looking at it 400 miles range per tank.
Cons: Could use a few more D rings in the bed. The two mounted aft are of little use. The composite bed is easily marred, not at all like the durability they advertise. Soft wood with no nails is OK, but don't try metal with sharp edges or composition roofing. The bed rail tie down system is nice but on the light duty side. Toyota does not offer fog lights in this trim level with 2WD and the 4 cylinder. Those are reserved for owners who spring for the extra 4 grand to get the V-6. Not to worry though; there are websites out there that offer complete genuine Toyota fog light packages, including the dash mounted switch, so Owners don't have to drive around with those black plastic plugs.
Overall review: A dependable well built truck. This is my 5th Toyota truck. The others were a 1990 Xtra Cab 12 valve V6 Auto 4WD, a 1999, 2002 and 2005. The last 3 were 2WD regular cabs with 4 cylinder engines and 5 speed manual tranmissions. The 2008 is the best equipped truck of all of them. It is the biggest and most comfortable. The 167 HP 2.7L 4 delivers plenty of performance and fuel economy, which is definitley a plus with today's high fuel prices.

"The Blue Monster" by Stevie5052 on 03/06/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab V6 Auto 4X4, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: I guess the style of the truck, and the quality of craftsmanship. Mileage is also a big factor.
Cons: I have the access cab, and if someone had to ride on those bench seats for long period of time, I believe it would be ruff..
Overall review: This truck has all the features of any pickup truck, that one would want. Horsepower, quality, style, and dependability. And the resale on any tacoma is very good. This is very wise investment, and if someone who is looking for a truck for any event this is the truck..
