Mazda CX7 engine has a defect by Disappointed in Mazda on 11/15/2013. Trim: 2008 Mazda CX-7 Sport FWD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: It's usually dependable
Cons: The turbocharger in the CX-7 2.3 engine has a defect and it will fail. Mazda extended the warranty to 70K miles but the vehicle I have failed at 71,000 and Mazda refuses to do anything about it. The vehicle has had regular service since new. The repair costs $2200.
Overall review: Mazda should stand behind their products and fix defective parts. Live and learn. The good part is I will never have another issue with a Mazda product.

Junk cars from mazda by An MSN Autos Consumer on 06/16/2013. Trim: 2008 Mazda CX-7 Sport FWD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: The styling is good , bose sound system excellent, Fun to drive at first till all its problems arose.
Cons: I dislike all the problems and repairs you will need after 50,000 miles . My problems came within the first month. My a/c compressor frooze had to be replaced and it cause metal pieces to infiltrate the engine. My sun roof wind reflecter got stuck about the third month. No indication of maintinence required has come on for vehicle i am at 87, 000 miles . Bad sound coming from engine but i still have no check engine light or anything telling me there is a problem . I complained about a ticking noise to service tech when i first got the car he said its normal for the car cause of the type of engine . . Car has issues and mazda won't fess up to it . Blames consumer for issue .
Overall review: Car looks nice but is plagued with problems.Experts say the engine is the problem. They say there is hot spots in theengine that cause engine oil sludge but Mazda blames consumer for not keeping maintenence on car. There are people who have all maintenence recordsand still getblamed. I didn.t do the maintenence properly but my car still runs but has all the same problems every one else does that has done the maintenence. Some of their cars arent even running anymore and are good lookming lawn ornaments.Should have dumped this car when i hadthe chance.

Cons: needs more lights for interior at night , needs more accessories,mp3 for radio, compass and temp in mirror
Overall review: I would buy again, but I would like the Grand touring model. Have had no trouble with anything except paint. It seems to be easily marked.
