Don't listen to the hype, this car is dependable, safe and worth the money! by Sir Ly, Protector of Lamb, Companion to Ri, Lord of SBB NJ on 03/25/2010. Trim: 2008 Toyota Prius Base, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Handles well, "zippy", great sound (with the upgraded sound package-9 speaker, JVC, 6 disc), comfortable during long trips, bluetooth, touch screen controls, reverse camera, and of course the fuel efficiancy. And the fact that even if you run out of gas you can still drive it, albeit very slowly, running off of the battery. This happened to me once when I first bought the car. I wasn't familiar with the fuel gauge, uncertain how long I had before I ran out. Ran out in traffic, yet was able to start it and run off of the battery just long enough to make it to a gas station!
Cons: Underpowered, gps does not always have addresses (reads "no address exists" when in fact it does), little variety in styling, expensive, and the recent recalls (which I have not have had a major problem with). VERY expensive to repair if damaged!!! Had two rear end collisions, car crumpled and cost $14k for the first accident and another $7k for the second (the other driver's insurance paid, but if you are uninsured/underinsured, be warned!).
Overall review: Overall a great car. The MPG rating is worth the extra cost (I paid over $25k but avg around 46mpg). Keyless entry, touch screen features, steering wheel controls, bluetooth, gps (despite its limitations), cruise, great sound, nimble yet underpowered, plenty of space despite it's seemingly small size (comfortably seats 4). The traction control works very well. Takes a little getting used to, and many shops are unfamiliar with the Prius. Have to take it to a dealer for reapairs (even to replace a headlight, which has gone out 3 times in the first 30,000 miles!). The shifter confuses those unfamiliar with the car.

Pros: Gas mileage/efficiency Worry free Quiet
Cons: I like everything.
Overall review: Great quality - and excellent gas efficiency. Perfect for small family or for long distance commuters. I cannot complain one bit about this car. Once you go hybrid, you cannot go back.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS CAR!!!! by LAURA on 05/22/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Prius 4-Door Liftback, Owned 4 years.

Pros: My favorite feature is Bluetooth. I love being able to talk to someone with a push of a button. This car is so fun to drive! And parking is a breeze especially backing up into a spot. The backup camera is very helpful. It is extremely comfortable even for tall people even though its a small car. Don't let the size fool you. Once you're inside you have a lot of leg room, head room and it's wider than you would think.
Cons: I don't like driving it in the snow. The car has a mind of it's own. If you're slipping it's not sure if it should use electric or gas. But I would without a doubt buy another Prius. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
Overall review: Good Gas Mileage, Reliable as all TOYOTAS are, and such a cute car. I wouldn't buy anything but a Toyota. I also own a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 and a 2005 Toyota Camry.

Great Green Car! by Retired Clergyman from Baltimore on 03/06/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Prius 4-Door Liftback, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Good ride and handling. Style stays fresh. Excellent gas mileage. Have had no problem at all with it. 45,000 miles on it. Get excellent dealer service on it.
Cons: If you drop a key, coin, or some small object between the front seats and the center console, it's difficult to retreive. Must get out of car and try from the back floor to locate it.
Overall review: Well made, durable, an excellent choice This my second Prius; Later on I'll buy another.

Great car considering the MPG. by Richard on 11/13/2007. Trim: 2008 Toyota Prius Touring, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: I love the fact that it gets great mileage and the look of the interior/dashboard is awesome. I added aftermarket heated seats (installed by Toyota) and they work well but not as well as cars that come equipped with this feature. The seats are too HOT even on the lowest setting.
Cons: It could use more power. It lags when asked to jump into traffic but I guess thats the downside of any hybrid. The leather seats aren't as comfortable as the non-leather (which is a disappointment) since they should be as comfortable or more so considering the extra cost.
Overall review: Its a fun car to drive and I love the Navigation System. I realized that I'd lose power and comfort (my trade in was an Acura TL) but had hoped for more luxury in the Prius than I received. If Acura ever comes out with a Hybrid I'd definately look into purchasing one since so far my Acura TL was the best car I've ever owned to date. I rarely keep my cars for more than 3 years so I'll be keeping my eyes out for a more powerful LUXURY HYBRID for my next purchase.
