Too much about nothing by gigimanjo on 11/16/2008. Trim: 2008 Acura MDX Sport Package, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Quality of the materials & fit and finish
Cons: Road noise, cramped interior, constantly fighting transmission to upshift or downshift at the right time, not so much power from 300 HP engine.
Overall review: When I read some of the reviews, somethimes I ask myself- are this people so ignorant or they just trying to fool themselves for any reason. There is no doubt that Acura MDX is going to last a long time, that it is quality assembled SUV and reliable. But to say that this is "best value in the class"or there is a "lot of room inside"or that there is a "lot of power "is simply written by people who don't know anything about cars or they did not do their homework before bying this SUV.The engine is barely enough to move MDX,transmission is not adequate and not matched with engine and this SUV is terribly overpriced(like Audi Q7).Don't forget a healthy portion of road noise which is a no-no in this price range. My job is closely connected with auto-industry,however I do not work for any manufacturer. This SUV is simply a way to waste your money away and big dissapointment from so excellent manufacturer.

I will always own an Acura MDX by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/28/2009. Trim: 2008 Acura MDX Tech Package w/ Rear DVD System, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Overall review: The best new car I have ever owned, I love the power tailgate and the handsfree phone option. I also appreciate the navigation system, it is so easy to use and has gotten me to places I would have never found on my own. I don't even need to mention the rear DVD system, that is a trip saver. My children don't fight over the front seat as they now both have heated back seats, and their own climate control.

Most technological and best SUV for the money! by Jake the new daddy on 09/02/2008. Trim: 2008 Acura MDX Tech Package w/ Rear DVD System, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Got the Tech + Entertainment (DVD) package which includes the power lift-gate and rear heated seats. Though salesperson said rear seats are heated in the seat area only but back support is also heated, which is great! Triple climate control is awesome. Plenty of space and cup holders, interior space 'holders' such as pockets, etc. Love the AC outlet in additions to regular power outlets. The GPS navigation is best I've seen in a in-built vehicle model. And bluetooth is really cool, if you have a phone that is supported fully to take advantage of all its features (see cons below) Audio/Video system is Top-notch. Great sound and DVD screen is nice and clear.
Cons: Rear power-gate door is bit low when opened. I'm 6'2" so I wish it would raise higher. The second row seat does not recline or move back further, which would nice give extra leg room for 2nd row since there is additional room (e.g. 3rd row seat). Not so easy to get in/out to the 3rd row seat. Arcadia/Enclave does a better job with that. The voice activated navigation is really a 'toy' - it's just faster to just do it manually, instead of saying things like "passenger temperature 78 degree". Need better voice recoginition software, but it is nice toy for the guys. Currently only 1 phone under Verizon is FULLY compatible with all its feature, such as phonebook import, data services)
Overall review: Great car/SUV and most technological car ever driven or seen. The center consol, although bit busy with buttons, can ALL be controlled via Voice-Activation. Lot of options you would see in other SUVs are pretty much standard on this package. I bought this for my wife who was expecting new baby back in Feb. I do feel better that she (and the baby) is in the car as this car is loaded with all the safety feature you can ask for. We test drove Aracadia/Enclave, Pilot, Highlander, and Lexus R50. Enclave felt too 'old', Aracadia too American built with cheap interior, Highlander didin't feel solid enough and small screen for back-up camera and small trunk space, but love the remote starter!), Pilot was great but bit boring and no memory seats (kinda need that when me and wife is almost a foot apart in height), and Lexus was buttery smooth but didn't fit well in my 6'2" body frame - felt tight and confined in the driver seat for me. MDX had just right mix of things we needed!
