"my little Beast"
by Pakal111 on 07/23/2009.
Trim: 2008 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Grand Touring 5-Door (New), Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
This little guy is fast.........too fast sometimes, good for everyday drive, it handles well on the curves, the breaks as just as good as the acceleration... cops don't usually pay attention to you, and insurance is relative cheaper than other turbo vehicles. it never gets old, i always wanna drive it
Cons:
the shifter is a little tricky at the beginning... better MPG..but is a turbo engine.. is not an AWD, but the torque sterring is not as bad as some people think.
Overall review:
If you are in a budget, but still a performance car that delivers... then this is the car for you.... if 8 hours at work feel like a slow death sentence....... the MS3 would bring you back to life...... I love it!!!

Big Performance in a Small (Yet Practical) Package
by Andrew from Armonk on 11/23/2011.
Trim: 2008 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Grand Touring 5-Door, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Excellent engine; great power and torque; slick 6-speed; xlnt handling; good gas mileage (30.2 mpg over the last yr); zero problems in 3 yrs of ownership; powerful HID headlights; just-right exhaust note; comfortable and supportive seats; good audio system (Bose); practical (lots of room w/ the rear seats down); dual cigarette lighter plugs; not a cop-magnet
Cons:
Though summer tires have xlnt grip in warm weather, they are unusable in any cold & damp (under 40 degrees F) conditions -- MUST switch to snow tires before it gets cold; heated seats would be nice if they were available; clutch is a bit abrupt in actuation; a taller 6th gear would be nice for highway driving; the car would be near-perfect it was rear-wheel drive
Overall review:
The car is a performance bargain; serious turbo power when needed, but good gas mileage when trundling along; xlnt handling; very well made - no problems encountered in 3 yrs of driving; very practical yet capable of surprising/blasting past sports cars w/ much more horsepower/cachet (previous victims: Ferraris, Ford GTs, Porsche Turbos, Corvette Z06s, Audi R8s :o)

Awesome Power, A Blast to drive
by Oscar Casanova, Miami Florida on 08/02/2012.
Trim: 2008 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Sport 5-Door, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Very fun to drive , power is there when you need it. Don't get too much attention from the police even though I have the true red color. Very spacious front seats, I'm 6' 2" I have no problems. Stock radio non Bose is decent. Great field of view all around. And for a little sports car it is very useful having a hatchback for the extra storage and transport of large items.
Cons:
Unless you're a mechanic with access to a shop most of the servicing will need to be done by a professional. I use the dealer and stay on top of the servicing schedule. Brakes are pricey as well as most other service jobs are usually above normal. Tires wear faster than normal. Exterior paint is easy to chip
Overall review:
Awesome car, ive had the car for a year with 93000 miles and everything so far runs perfect. I always look forward to my daily commute.

The gas mileage. My other car is a Hybred.
Overall review:
This car is one you can have a lot of fun driving and then haul mulch or fertalizer home from the store.
