Love My Caliber! by mybluecaliber from Wisconsin on 05/10/2010. Trim: 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I love EVERYTHING about my Caliber SXT. I love the color (Surf Blue), and the unique styling inside and out. I get great gas mileage, has ample room for hauling people and things, and great safety ratings.
Cons: Could use more power under the hood, but this is coming from a speed junkie. the smaller engine has saved me gas money and speeding tickets. I have experienced the slight "helicopter" sound from having a back window open, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by opening another window or just using the A/C instead.
Overall review: Fell in lover with the Caliber as a rental car and within 12 months became an owner and haven't had a single regret about making the purchase.

Would buy again by Dont be haten on 02/17/2013. Trim: 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned 4 years.
Pros: 2009 sxt 2.0 cvt Have read many reviews people seem to get great mpg or terrible. Its the cvt and ride hight. If your thinking you'll fill 4g excelleration you won't. Holding gas to the floor makes a lot of engine noise Thanks to the cvt. but doesn"t make it go any faster. Holding rpm below 3000 max gives good excelleration and mpg. This is the wifes car. She hasn't got a clue what hipermilling is so she drives it like a regualer automatic. Don't dare till her how to drive 3000 rpm is her habit. She averages 26.4 to 28.2 combined. I drove it on a 300 mile trip 75mph all the way got 29.8mpg three adults and lugage.
Cons: COME ON PEOPLE IT'S 2L NOT A BIG BLOCK CHEVY AND IF YOU DRIVE IT LIKE ONE YOU TO WELL GET 15MPG.
Overall review: Good mpg, good excelleration, good cargo room and easy cargo loading. cheap interior, rough ride alot of road noise. Dodge got a bad rap on this car by the pro's because they wanted to compair it to other cars with big engines, higher priced cars or smaller more efficant cars. not on it own merits.

Does what it needs to do! by coffee lover from Missoula on 05/22/2011. Trim: 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned 3 years.
Pros: This little care has been great! Excellent car to have during tight economical times. I am not sure why it gets such poor ratings concerning the mileage, ours does very well... I really have enjoyed everything about the car.
Cons: Its a little narrow.
Overall review: I would recommend this vehicle, lets talk it up more!!

The Geo Metro of 2008 by Commuter's dream on 05/10/2008. Trim: 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Styling, Hatchback Versatility, Clever Features
Cons: The fit and finish on this vehicle is grotesque. You can see the gaps and unfinished edges in the car and there are electrical cords that hit your feet on the passenger side. The interior is made of hard, cheap plastic, something seen in many recent Chrysler and Dodge models. The engine makes a lot of noise when accelerating and sounds unrefined. The CVT transmission holds the engine at high revs making you want to turn the radio on to tune it out. When you floor it the transmission has a weird "rubberband" effect. The fuel economy is a disappointing 22mpg. Backseat room is moderate, but the seats are uncomfortable.
Overall review: Overall, the Neon is a better car. If Chrysler wants to be in the "budget" cars game, they need to get it together. If they want to be any type of competition to Japenese competitors they need to step it up. Just throw in an impecable interior like the Elantra, the handling of a Civic, the CVT from the Sentra, the engine from a Mazda3, and the reliablility of a Corolla, they would have a winner.

Surf Blue Mean Machine by Tina on 09/19/2013. Trim: 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I love the Caliber. It has plenty of room. Love the sound system and ac. I Like the way that its stylish.
Cons: The Caliber had a whining noise under the hood thought it was the tension-er pulley changed it and it quit for a few minutes then started making the noise again. Did more research and it ended up being the De-coupler pulley. This is the pulley on the side of the alternator. It is best that you just change out the whole alternator. Now my car runs great. No a lot of trunk space.
Overall review: I love it. My kids love it. We went from a 1997 Honda Accord to this and when my kids act bad in the car I tell them I putting them in the Honda and they scream "NO" So I would say that they love the Caliber as well.
