Love it! by Canadian Versa Fan on 06/15/2012. Trim: 2008 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL, Owned 5 years.
Pros: This is the most comfortable car I have driven. It has a lot of cargo room and decent power for city and highway driving. Mine currently has 118000km (purchased it new) and I get around 7.9 l/100km average. I am an enthusiastic driver and can very easily increase the mileage when driving conservatively. Fit and finish is good and I have not had any problems except the muffler rusted off at about four and a half years. Sure do love salty Canadian winters!
Cons: Styling is a little dorky and it could use a water temperature gauge. I am not a fan of the blue and red indicator lights. I like more information. The handling is nothing special, but is a lot better than the competition for what it is, an entry level economy car that actually competes with some compacts. I improved the handling by using winter tires on the factory rims and a plus 2 summer tire setup (215/45-R17). This minor tweak made quite a bit of difference. The factory tires were pretty poor.
Overall review: I love this car! I have been contemplating selling it and upgrading for a couple years now, but I drive long distances and have not found a vehicle that would effectively replace it with regards to practicality and comfort.

Nissan Versa Hatchback....Fun to Drive, even in the curves! by Eric-Mississippi on 03/08/2011. Trim: 2008 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL, Owned 3 years.
Pros: This little car has more room than you could ever hope for with a car. I've had it loaded with 6 guitars and three amplifiers plus all mics and stands and cables with two other bandmates, so it will hold about anything you need it to hold. The Fuel economy is great and the ride is very comfortable for a small car.
Cons: Nissan should offer a hood bug deflector since the paint on the hood will chip everytime a large bug hits it. The engine is real busy when you get into it kind of heavy. No one carries replacement wiper blades for the hatchbak and the "renault inspired" shifter on the manual transmission is clunky and rough when shifting gears. The inside door handle like to pop off in your hand while closing it on a hot day...
Overall review: Great little gas saving car! 31MPG with the maunal. Fit and trim is okay but remember this is a $15,000 car at the most.

Versatile Versa, Great Family Car with Decent Mileage by Rich from Kansas on 12/08/2010. Trim: 2008 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Bought this for my wife to drive to work. Loads of room in it for 4 passengers, I've read its larger inside than a Buick or the Maxima. Good visibility, you sit high. Very flexible, rear seats fold down, cargo can be covered so others cant see in the truck area in our hatchback. Easy to get in and out of.
Cons: Buzzy engine, don't like the cruise, when you reengage it after slowing down it puts the pedal to the metal, full on. I complained to the dealer, they said its just like that. I have no other vehicles that floor it to get back to cruising speed. Paint seems to chip a little easily, quite a few chips on the front end after two years. Mileage could be better, gets about 30 regularly in overall driving. Front tires wore out after 30,000 miles.
Overall review: Good little car, nice power features, doesn't seem cheap but we did pay 15,000 for it and now it seems to be worth 8,000 or so, seems like a lot of depreciation. Easy to drive, sit high. No real problems with it so far at 50,000 miles. Still looks good. Hope it lasts a good long time.

2008 Nissan Versa by DF Boston, MA on 08/09/2010. Trim: 2008 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL Sedan, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Very comfortable, roomy interior.
Cons: Massive A/C problems with barely 28,000 miles on it. Flimsy exterior, seems like it's made of plastic. Cheap paint.
Overall review: Great on gas, very comfortable car but pretty cheapily made. Massive A/C problem with barely 28,000 miles on the car took over 2 weeks to repair thanks to Nissan back order. Great on gas. Often felt flimsy when opening and closing the doors. The paint chips incredibly easy. Constantly has brake lights out.
