When can I finally enjoy my car!

Pros:
Fun to drive and nice when the top is down especially during warm days.
Cons:
Problems with the i-pod connector, now fixed. Problem with the dash lights flickering when the windshield wiper are on, now fixed. Crack in the upper right side of the gas tank, replaced. New gas tank now has a crack in the upper right side of the tank. Still in the shop waiting over 2 weeks now for gas tank to arrive from Germany.
Overall review:
Nice looking and fun car to drive, but too many times in the shop for repairs

New Beetle, have fun with a rental, don't buy it

Pros:
Stylish, handy and comfortable. Very easy and enjoy full to drive. Love the colors of mine (blue with caramel interior).
Cons:
Not a top performer, although the Tiptronic allows you to explore the mechanics. Nice on curbs. The main issue is the VW support. Very poor on quality, expensive and isn’t trustworthy. Mine had a electric / warranty problem that lasted for over 3 months, with 5 visits and over 3 weeks total stoppage. For a VW fan the New Beetle makes you proud on the first moment, but the car has the potential to let you down for the problems.
Overall review:
Love the design and to drive it on a mountain road. For that rent it! Don't buy it; it disappoints for the problems difficult to solve (engineering and VW support).

2008 VW Beetle Problems

Purchased new 2008 in April, 2008. Driving home, noticed the dash odometer lights flicker when the windhshield wipers moved. Took the vehicle back to dealer, thought it was loose battery cables. A day or so later, the odometer lights flickered again when the windshield wipers were used. The dealer kept the vehicle for several days and found that there had been other similar complaints on 2008, so VW replaced a harness and the ignition switch. The drivers door has squeaked terribly, which they tightened. Still squeaks loudly! The ignition switch is hard to turn, the door and trunk light will not come on when the doors and trunk are not closed tightly. Brakes already squeaking at 22,000 miles.
Overall review:
This is my first VW and I don't think I will purchase another one. A vehicle this new should not have this many problems. I have owned Chevrolets, Fords, Chryslers, Toyota, and Honda's. I have never had problems such as these with any of my previously and currently owned vehicles. I would think twice before purchasing a VW Beetle.
