Pros:
When new and up till recently, it had the best air-heat system I ever owned.
Performance was outstanding. Great pick-up, great for long family trips.
Very comfortable.
Cons:
Probably should be expected, but after 9 years pick-up is not as great.
Have taken it to three mechanics. All have a different opinion.
Overall review:
Wish I had a new one that could get 20 mpgs.

great traveling van for large family
by muscadinejelly on 02/05/2004.
Trim: 1997 GMC Savana G1500, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
I have the conversion van. It's like driving a luxury car. Plenty of room (especially leg space) for my family of 7.
Cons:
This BIG van takes a while for me to get used to driving. Too many "blind" spots for me, especially in Houston traffic -- doesn't bother hubby though. I wish that there was more storage space behind the rear seat when full of passengers.
Overall review:
This is great comfort for a long ride. Kids love the TV, stereo, and the interior "hollywood lights". All seats have overhead lights so passengers can read without disturbing driver.
