The Perfect SUV by Nana from Texas on 09/19/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited 4X2, Owned 4 years.

Pros: Handling is great. Mine has leather interior so it looks sporty. The controls are well laid out. I like that the hatch can be controlled by the remote or from the interior button. Mileage runs about 22 mpg. I have the pearlized ivory color which works well in the Texas heat. I would love an excuse to by a 2011 but mine only has 21,000 miles on it because I travel for a living and only drive it on weekends. The good news is: If you have to drive an earlier model car, this one is super!
Cons: The tires are poor quality. Just changed to Michelin.
Overall review: This is the perfect car. Big enough for groceries and hauling household items, but small enough to manuever in tight spaces. I have been a Toyota owner for years and this is my favorite so far.

Shattered Dream Car by Mom of 3 from Katy on 12/14/2010. Trim: 2008 Toyota Highlander Base 4X2, Owned 3 years.

Pros: I love the style and aerodynamic body on the shell of the car. The blizzard pearl color makes is seem like a luxury car. The seats in the second row recline to a comfortable positions with plenty of leg room. There is plenty of cup holders and storage in door pockets, I love the sun glass holders behind the interior rear view mirror.
Cons: I do not like sitting in the middle of the second row seat. It is too narrow for teens and adults without sitting on the seat belt fastener. There is no storage room behind the third row seat when in up right position. Also, you cannot roll down the back windows when front is up while driving, it causes a thudding noise and painful pressure to the passengers ears. Also, the third row seat mats is one long piece that is not attached or clipped down so it is always folds over. The spare tire is hard getting to, you have to take apart your car in the back to get to it, then put it together like a puzzle. "Who has time to do that with oily/dirty hands?"
Overall review: I love the way my highlander drives, it's spacious for the driver and passenger. I truly believe you can fit 4 adults and 2 children comfortably not 7 adults as advertise.

ASTONISHING TRUCK (DO ALL GO GETTER) by MR. T on 10/01/2012. Trim: 2008 Toyota Highlander Base 4X4, Owned 1 year.

Pros: LOVE THIS VEHICLE. HAVE A WIFE AND 2 KIDS . WENT FROM NISSAN MAXIMA TO HIGHLANDER. I AM CONVERTED. MY BROTHER HAS 2012 MDX AND WAS VERY DISAPOINTED. HE SAID HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER WENT FROM HIGHLANDER TO MDX . WE WENT ON A FEW TRIPS AND THE MILEAGE IS EXCELLENT ON MY V6 - 4X4. I DO ON A TANK 320 M. THATS HGHWY & CITY COMBINED. NOW THAT IS IMPRESSIVE. COMFORTABLE ,QUIET , SPACEY ,PLEASURE TO DRIVE. TRIED MURANO BUT UNFORTUNATELY NO COMPARISON. I INSTALLED THE GPS & ENT.SYSTEM FOR KIDS-LOVE IT. !!!
Cons: SHOCKING THAT TOYOTA PLACED LOW END DUNLOP TIRES ON SUCH A GREAT VEHICLE. AT LEAST ON MINE. PLEASE , THIS IS THE 1st THING YOU SHOULD DO WHEN YOU GET IT AND IT IS CALLED " MICHELLIN " CROSS TERRAIN. WOW , WHAT A DIFFERENCE. YES A LITTLE LOUDER BUT SPEAKING OF WINNING THE TICKET TO MARS. HANDLING IMPROVED IMMEDIATELY. NO MORE AFRAID OF RAIN/SNOW!!!! CAR STOPS LIKE WHEN BEING YELLED BY A MOTHER IN LAW.SORRY I JUST LOVE THIS VEHICLE, WIFE STILL UPSET , AT ME NOT THE CAR .
Overall review: ANYONE LOOKING FOR A FUEL ECONOMY , EASE OF USE , PLENTY OF POWER AND RELIABLE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO WANT MORE SPACE BUT WITHOUT GOING CHEVY SUBURBAN ON IT YOU WON`T BE DISAPPOINTED. AND WHATEVER YOU DO PLEASE REMEMBER TO UPGRADE TO MICHELIN`S ONCE YOU GET IT.

I love my Highlander by Louisville Mom on 05/11/2011. Trim: 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport 4X2, Owned 4 years.
1
Pros: It is very comfortable, safe and driver friendly. I got all of the bells and whistles with my Highlander.
Cons: The GPS didn't work properly when I bought it (new). After several trips to the service department at Toyota of Louisville, where I purchased my SUV, where I was told that there was nothing wrong with the GPS, I was convinced that I was the problem, not the system. After seven visits, my husband suggested that I take the SUV to the other Toyota dealer in Louisville (Oxmoor Toyota) for a second look. The service manager (Steve) looked at the vehicle and diagnosed the problem immediately. The part was ordered and the system was fixed to my satisfaction. It seems that it left the factory with a defective GPS antenna. I only wish that I had taken the car to the other dealer sooner.
Overall review: I love my Highlander. I always drove Jags or Mercedes sedans but wanted a SUV. My last vehicle was a Lexus RX 300. The integrity of the Highlander's interior is superior to the Lexus. It is a very comfortable ride for long trips. I would definitely consider another 7 passenger Highlander for my next purchase.
