I Think Mine Was Built On Friday by Unsatisfied from Whitehouse,OH on 01/21/2003. Trim: 1996 GMC Savana G1500 SWB 3DR 4A VAN, Owned 6 years.

Pros: Very comfortable interior, good performance.
Cons: Poor fit and finish, many inferior parts (bad rotors, poor transmission, many interior rattles, low quality knobs).
Overall review: I loved the idea of this vehicle when I bought it. I was so excited when drove it off the lot. Soon, though, my excitement faded when I began to hear rattles in the dash and annoying ticks in the windows at about 5000 miles. Then, at my first brake job at 22000 miles the mechanic told me that my rotors were going. I thought he might be trying to sell me something so I just got the basic brake job. At 45000 miles the rotors were completely shot. Never have I had a problems with brakes of this magnitude. Then, at 65000 miles, the transmission went. I still love getting into this vehicle and driving it but I'm always afraid of what might break next. I'd like to sell it but I'd just take too much of a loss on it.

Pros: Roomy and good tow vehicle. Comfortable ride. Handles well. 19 MPG on open hwy. 15 MPG when towing.
Cons: Had to rebuild tranny at 65 K. Trailer only weighs about 2500 lbs.
Overall review: Overall (except for transmission) have been well satisfied with van for the purpose it was purchased. Will probably buy another one. This one has 92 K on it now.
