I Like this Little Truck . . .
by Howie from Lancaster PA on 05/22/2011.
Trim: 2007 Isuzu i-290 S, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
Very nice small truck. Much more comfortable for me to drive than my daughter's Ford Ranger (I'm a big dude). Five-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and interior is fairly quiet. Nice ride quality with good visibility all around. Extended cab rear doors open for a large loading/unloading area.
Cons:
The body panels seem to be a bit on the 'flimsy' side. There is no key access on the passenger-side door for locking/unlocking. The heater/AC fan only works on the 'high' setting (a common problem, I'm told, for these vehicles). Interior panels are 'hard plastic' and also might be described as 'flimsy'.
Overall review:
So far I like this truck!! I've owned it for less than a year but it seems like a strong little truck. I feel very cramped in my daughter's Ford Ranger, but in the Isuzu I have plenty of room. Very comfortable. I like the look of the isuzu front grill, and I'm looking forward to putting this truck to work. Stay tuned . . .

Mid-size truck gets 31+mpg highway
by Road cruiser on 08/05/2008.
Trim: 2007 Isuzu i-290 LS, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
I am surprised by my truck's economy; I am able to acheive 31+ mpg just by cruisining at a steady speed of 63 mph on the highway and using the A/C sparingly. You can buy a more expensive vehicle, but the mpg's speak loudly!
Cons:
It is suitable for two adults, but children in extended cab are snug.
Overall review:
Do not overlook this vehicle when planning a purchase!

GOOD truck.
by Tom from Sulphur, La. on 10/02/2007.
Trim: 2007 Isuzu i-290 LS, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Solid feeling and precise handling. Good power, even with towing small trailer. Very quiet inside and out. Came with very good stereo system with MP3 player.
Cons:
Fuel economy not as good as you would expect from EPA ratings, especially around town, although there are some indications it is getting better with more mileage. Body is a little plain, might could use some tasteful dressing up.
Overall review:
Good replacement truck for someone needed to upgrade from older compact truck. Isuzu packages truck with options you will pay much more from in Chevrolet or GMC and it is the same truck.
