Good and Bad by Georgia from NC on 01/25/2010. Trim: 2007 Volkswagen Touareg V6, Owned 4 years.

Pros: attractive and comfortable. great handling. i feel safe.
Cons: Have had the brakes replaced twice and looks like i am going to have to again. Never had that problem with a car before. when lift back door after a rain, the water runs into the vehicle; seems like that could have been designed better. also leaks inside over the gear shift after a heavy rain. had it checked and was told it had something to do with the sunroof, but it's not coming from the sunroof. also some small interior issues: plastic peeling from sunroof control knob and a couple of small plastic pieces breaking in other compartments. center console pops open and is hard to close at times. Most of these problems are minor, but wouldn't expect them on a car in this luxury price range.
Overall review: love the way it handles, but maintenance is expensive.

Awesome! by Bob S on 05/13/2014. Trim: 2007 Volkswagen Touareg V6, Owned 7 years.

Pros: I purchased my 07' Touareg V6 new and have owned it since June of 06' as all of the 06's were sold out so I got my 07' early in the model year. I love this SUV! It now has 110,000 miles on it and still looks and runs great with almost no mechanical issues throughout. It is triple black, meaning black paint, black interior, and 22" black Victor racing wheels mounted on huge Toyo tires. What a good looking car as I have gotten so many thumbs-up's from other drivers almost everywhere I go since the purchase.
Cons: No Bluetooth Average 18mpg
Overall review: Extremely safe SUV that does everything well. My interior still looks brand new with minimal signs of wear on some of the controls. The leather seats look showroom and I would definitely buy another but no need to as this one was built so well it could probably go 300,000+ miles with no problems just doing the basic maintenance.

short of incredible..... by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/18/2009. Trim: 2007 Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI, Owned 2 years.

Pros: My 3 Touareg, traded up to the V10 from a V8, fantastic SUV. Nothing can touch it. Smooth, powerful, great MPG, 24, fit and finish is fantatic. Seats are very comfortable. Best car I have ever owned. I have owned over 20 different cars..... A bit on the pricey side for the V10, but 600 Foot pounds of tourqe.... hard to beat.
Cons: needs bluetooth, Power lift gate would have been nice, and need to make the rear seat head rests easier to use when putting the seats flat. Besides that... just normal issues as with a high tech car...
Overall review: it is my third one... what else can I say... looked at many different cars, SUV's and I went back.... V10, hard to discrbe the ride/power... just a steady pull of power at any speed. Love it......

Check with a couple of Touareg owners before you buy by An MSN Autos Consumer on 06/19/2009. Trim: 2007 Volkswagen Touareg V6, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Pros: Nice turning radius. Great in snow.
Cons: Cons: CDs stick in the radio requiring multiple pushes on the eject button. Had a 2005 Touareg. Main transmiision seal went out on it at approx. 48,000 miles. VW repaired it under warranty with no further problem. Decided to try again with a 2007 Touareg. At approx. 34,000 engine lost power and would not go up hills over 45 mph. VW said a bolt came loose in the rear of the engine. Whatever, for some reason VW says it may take four weeks or more to repair the vehicle. VW still has the vehicle at the time of this review.
Overall review: Nice looking vehicle. The mirrors on the 2005 automatically tilted down when in reverse, I really liked that feature for lining it up in a parking space. Vehicle sits up high and gives a better view of traffic. These days, I would look at the number of VW dealers close by - need more than one. Based on other reviews it looks like parts supplies are a problem with VW. Mine broke down about ten hours from home - nearest dealer was 72 miles away.
