A very agile growler... by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/22/2012. Trim: 2007 Porsche Cayman S, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: The cayman s is a head turner. It has great acceleration and superb handling. The car may be 5 years old, but people still offer complements like it is new. Hit the gas pedal and you will fall in love with the sound of the exhaust.
Cons: Small cargo space (front and back trunks might fit a suitcase and a carry-on), weak stereo system.
Overall review: The sharpness and fun of the 911 for a fraction of the cost. If you're a Porsche aficionado but have yet to own one, this one is worth getting and won't break your bank.

A rat trap that will get you. by JJ on 04/21/2011. Trim: 2007 Porsche Cayman Base, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Appearance, a truly beautiful car, handling.
Cons: Rattles, squeaks, buzzes, shifting is not precise, gas mileage not as advertised.
Overall review: This is a sports car make no mistake, if you are looking for a comfortable boulevard cruiser you should look elsewhere, if you are looking at the 23/32 gas mileage, you have to baby it to even get close, right now I getting 19 combined. For a 50 thousand plus car new, it should not come with all these rattles, truly annoying. Drive this car and you will fall in love with the handling, fantastic.

What Do You Get When You Cross A 911 With a Ferrari Dino? by V-Rod from Pacific Palisades on 05/28/2008. Trim: 2007 Porsche Cayman Base, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: If you are looking for a pure sports car, your ride has arrived. The number one job of a sports car is to look great, and the Cayman is the most beautiful thing Porsche has ever made. This car is an athlete, but not a weight-lifter -- if you must go 0 to 60 mph in 4 sec. (as opposed to 5.5), go buy one of the high-end 911s -- wonderful cars, but after all these years, a bit too plain-looking for my taste. Cayman handling is incredible, but if you are used to great-handling cars, you may not notice just how right they got it until you live with it for a while. Stunning. Also: the engine sound is intoxicating. Sadly, I am out of writing space to list more "pros"....
Cons: Yes, there are a couple of cons. The base stereo that came with my car is really disappointing for a $50k+ car. If you are into "scoring" your drive with a great soundtrack, would recommend you spring for the top-of-the line stereo -- though any stereo will be hard-pressed to drown out the engine + road noise... unless you turn it up very loud. (Cannot recommend connecting a non-Porsche-stock stereo because of battery drain issues I have read about.) Also -- save the awesome seats -- interior materials are not quite up to the standards of an Audi or Benz. You *could* always shell out for the full leather interor -- expensive, but looks fantastic.
Overall review: I would keep in mind how you are going to use the car. If your commute is along the coast or smooth mountain roads, you are not making a mistake in buying this car. If you spend most of your time in bumper-to-bumper traffic in the center of town, I would recommend investing in an Audi or Lexus with an automatic transmission. So the base price and maintenance of the Cayman are expensive compared to most... but honestly, after some ownership time, I can hardly believe this car is so affordable! If you are lucky enough to be able to stretch its legs in daily driving, you will come to realize you have purchased more than a collection of well-engineered parts, or even a greater whole. When it comes to road (sports) cars, Porsche and Ferrari are the masters. Buying a car like this is all about increasing the quality of life -- that is what a Cayman can do for you.

The Cayman S by ENballmer from TExas on 11/04/2007. Trim: 2007 Porsche Cayman S, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: This is an agile attractive two seat sports car. It is evident that it was engineered to be driven hard and to be very responsive.
Cons: This car requires a high level of driver input to drive it. The engine is just behind you, and based on all the noise in the cabin you know it. Driving in traffic is a bummer with the manual transmission, as driving this car gives you a bit of a workout.
Overall review: This car reminds me of a 70k dollar go cart. It's stiff, noisy, well-built and a blast to drive aggressively. It can get old if used as a daily driver.
