2007 VDP - driver seat cramped and uncomfortable
by Dave from VA on 03/21/2010.
Trim: 2007 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned 1 year.
2
Pros:
My wife bought based on visual appeal of VDP. She likes engine performance and back seat room.
Cons:
Front seats are narrow at base and legs rest directly on side bolsters. Large console and dash encroach on driver space. Right knee hits key when key is in ignition. After 20 minutes, the driving positon and pressure on legs is intolerable. I'm 6'2" and wife is 5'8" and have only experienced this issue on Jag. Little quality issues with back seat tray latches breaking.
Overall review:
Definitely take more than 10-15 minute test drive since we didn't notice seat discomfort initially. My wife uses her Volvo rather than Jag based on comfort issues. We are mid-50's and currently have MB CL600, Jag VDP and Volvo wagon. This is only vehicle ever owned that we both agree is intolerable to drive for any length of time. We bought Jag in summer 2009 with 10K miles and have only put 3K on it. We will sell primarily due to comfort problem for driver.

A piece of auto art
by BL8DEP on 12/08/2007.
Trim: 2007 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
This is my 2nd VDP - prior to this a 2001 model year. The Al '07 is much more pleasurable to drive.
Cons:
Cabin could be a little quieter - wind noice is noticeable.
Overall review:
There is a component of 'art' with Jaguars - the XJ series. German makes are tech toys for most part.

Awsome Cat
by Tim on 02/10/2007.
Trim: 2007 Jaguar Vanden Plas, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Everything, the way it handles, the way it rides... the list goes on. The seats are very comfortable, and it's extremely quite. For a car this size it's also very quick. This car is also made of mostly aluminum, which makes it light, and surprisingly fuel efficient. (recyclable too)
At this time I'm get 30 mpg on the highway with the car.
Cons:
So far nothing.
Overall review:
Excellent machine. If you are thinking about a serious luxury car, and you don't drive on of these... you're doing yourself a serious injustice.
