Pros:
The handling of the RX-8 is stellar - all the superlatives on the web are true. Acceleration is "pretty good" up to about 3K, then the car turns into something else. The high-reving power of the Rotary is much like a turbo-charged engine in that the power really ramps up "later."
Seat comfort is very good - basic ergonomics (i.e. steering wheel, gauge, shift) are perfect. And on the highway, at cruise, the RX-8 is quiet and smooth. What's not to like?! Plus, it doesn't look like it but four adults can really sit in the car.
Cons:
"What's not to like?!" Well, the RX-8 fairly demands to be driven. But every rrrrRRRRRrrrruuunnnNMMMMM of that glorious engine is like pounding a nail in the gas tank. If someone were to really push their RX-8 hard, fuel economy can go into the Lamborghini zone. Of course, ANY car will do that, but there some expectation of better fuel economy. Expect 15-18 with conscientious driving.
Overall review:
Mazdas are a true car "Brand." Like Porsche, Mazda understands its driver. Chances are, if the RX-8 is attractive to you in the first place, it's because the Brand is attractive. I've had other Mazdas and each one has been my 'favorite' car ever. The RX-8 will remain one of the great sports cars for people who appreciate distinction, innovation and performance.

Pros:
nice looking car, it cant look better, comfortable, great price, and impresionant RPM, its not only a fast car, it is also hard to find and an eye catcher

not good mpg, not good on rain, torque could be better

when i was looking at a fast sporty car i didnt know if i shoulded buy an RX-8 a 350Z or a boxter. i decided to buy the RX-8 instead of the other two because is the best looking car i've seen, and i would do it again if i had to. if you want to get somewhere and have everyone look at your car, this is the one.
