Great SUV, GREAT VALUE THAT IS FAMILIAR BUT DIFFERENT by Happy saab owner on 09/11/2012. Trim: 2007 Saab 9-7X 4.2i, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Bargain for features and options that car has. 15,000 less than similar meecedes ml320 with similar milage and options. Very very cheap to get serviced since it is a rebadged GMC Denali with added stability control , all wheel drive and air ride suspension. I have the 4.2liter inline 6 cylinder with the rare altitude edition (only 500 were made). It comes with flashy 18" wheels, running boards, and carbon fiber color paint.
Cons: The navigation system was very outdated, ripped it out and replaced with a kenwood nav with pandora radio controls. This was like getting a new car when replaced. 4 speed transmission is outdated, car get 15 mpg on average
Overall review: Great SUV for great price. It is awesome to have a different car than all the other boring cars on the road. This SUV was perfect for me because i could not bring myself to becoming a drone and getting a boring toyota or honda suv. I prefer mercedes since i had owned 3 at a time and this replaced my wagon, but it was too expensive to buy a low milage euro vehicle.. The front syling is sharp for an SUV and has projector beam headlights. Very dependable and very cheap to service. It has long warranty covered by GM. I bought my 2007 model with 50k miles a year ago for $16 and it is still under GM warranty a year later at 65k miles. Idle pulley went out when i bought the car but it was $19 to fix and a 10 minute repair

Great value and capabilities by Have owned many suv's on 06/06/2012. Trim: 2007 Saab 9-7X 5.3i, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Large V8, Navigation system, Rear DVD, lower profile tires and larger rims than its gmt360 cousins, 6500lb tow capacity, standard on demand AWD, HID headlights and washers, great price for a used one, literally you will not see another of these on the road so it is unique, Handling beyond any other suv I've ever experienced and so tires will give out before you reach its handling limit, Higher Skid Pad rating than many cars, much more refined interior compared to its gmt360 cousins and so althougth it is a dated platform, it doesn't look it.
Cons: Almost no usable interior nooks and crannies, both cupholders are poorly located, soft paint gets sandblasted by front wheel spray,
Overall review: If there is a more underpriced used car on the market, I'd like to see it. Except for the bumpy ride, this is the best overall vehicle I've ever owned in 25 years. The bumpy ride is the result of excellent cornering ability but is also its downside. Winter driving in ultra cold climate is harsh due to suspsension.

Like Our Saab by JB on 12/17/2007. Trim: 2007 Saab 9-7X 4.2i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Seats are very comfortable with very good lumbar support. Plenty of power. Good ride. Good backseat leg room. Cargo area is quite sufficient. Good vision out all windows. The heated seats are especially nice in winter. The XM radio is nice to have as is the OnStar service. OnStar is usable in many places where cell phones have no service. A nice safety feature.
Cons: Cup holders are inconveniently located in front seats. Controls for the external mirrors are hard to use.
Overall review: The Saab 9-7x is a sharp looking vehicle that is fun to drive. It is a step toward the luxary end and it feels that way when you are in it. It is a nice step up from the mini-vans we had driven for 20 years. Looking forward to buying another one in 3 years.

Best deal out there! by SaabConvert from North Texas on 08/19/2007. Trim: 2007 Saab 9-7X 5.3i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I like the fact that it pretty much comes fully equipped with only the rear seat DVD and the nav system as options. Really smooth, comfortable ride. Good acceleration and handling and I really like the nice tight turning radius. I had xenon lights in my previous vehicle and enjoy the added visibility they provide. The cabin area is very comfortable and the driver has the feeling of being surrounded by the instrumentation! The sound system is decent and the touch screen is 'cool'. GM also has something going for it with one year free OnStar service, including 30 free minutes for the hands free phone. You don't see many of these on the road, either, another point in its favor.
Cons: Not a lot of "storage" in the front seat area; no sunglass holder, for example, and the center console is useless if you use it to store CDs (with the nav system you lose the 6 CD changer). I also think they could have used LED taillights instead of "old fashioned" bulbs. It would really have added to the looks from the rear. I got the nav system and was very disappointed that a $2000+ option didn't come with the latest navigation DVD and the fact that all GM vehicles EXCLUDING SAAB include a "subscription" that provides free updates for the next two years. Like others, gas mileage is poor but to be expected and is no worse than the 6 cylinder.
Overall review: Compared to other models in its class, fully equipped, it may be the best bargain out there, especially when you then throw in the fact that it uses regular gas, comes with OnStar for a year, XM radio for three months, and includes free scheduled maintenance for three years.
