The Perfect Sports Car - No gadgets, Awesome engine, Beautiful styling. by Craig from Huntsville AL on 01/06/2007. Trim: 2006 Maserati GranSport Spyder, Owned 1 year.

Pros: An exotic car that can actually be driven! Most Ferraris get only 500 miles per year. This car can do that in one day. And you will have a blast doing it. The sound of the engine CANNOT be described via a web site. The F1 racing transaxle is awesome.
Cons: Being exclusive also means that it is difficult to service. Only Italian oil is allowed in this car. There are no "do it yourself" repair manuals. All parts come from the Ferrari dealer (very expensive). The stereo sounds great, but it is meant for Europe. There is NO spare tire.
Overall review: The perfect sports car. No "gadgets". Just a great engine in a beautiful car. If you drive one, you will want one. Maserati and Ferrari have pulled out all of the stops on designing this car. It has an Ferrari engine (from the old 360) and a Ferrari F1 racing transaxle. But it is more than just a racing engine in a small car. It is easy to drive and looks great. And you won't pass another one on the street, or loose it in the parking lot. It is relatively affordable if you shop around. Just don't expect this to be a "daily driver". It is a magnet for trouble. Insurance companies don't like it. Service is only available in a few select locations. The sides are smooth and just waiting for a door ding. Did I mention that it goes 180 mph? Enough said.

Pros: Interior is A+++++!!!
Cons: Look at overall
Overall review: Very Pricey for what you get.... If you are lucky enough to drive one of these cars you will find the ups and downs of this vehicle really quick. The taller people like myself need to walk away from this car. The interior of this care is gorgeous!

Little known secret by Mark on 07/11/2013. Trim: 2006 Maserati GranSport LE, Owned 2 years.
Useful?
Pros: A relatively rare car that is a true grand tourer. It can seat 4 unlike most others in this performance class (0-60 in 4.7). The engine sound is superb and has drawn positive comments from pedestrians on several occaisions. On a long drive, the normal suspension setting is comfortable and smooth but when the twisties appear press sport and the transformation to sport car handling is amazing. In the wet use the torque and power above 4000 rpm with care!
Cons: Service costs -but then it it is an Italian car with Ferrari parts...
Overall review: If you compare this car to a later model luxury GT by Germany at the same price you will be amazed at what you get. It is truly a secret bargain that only a few seem to know about. People love this car, from the lovely haunches to the sloped nose and splitter the styling by Giugiaro is faultless. It doesn't boast "I'm fast look at me" but then it doesn't need to and that may be a good thing if you are worried about your pride and joy being keyed by the cretins who roam UK streets. As you open the door you immediately see a refined interior all in leather with appropriate amounts of carbon fiber. The seats are comfortable and hold you well in corners which you can traverse quickly with little body roll and good control from the computer controlled suspension. Those that know little about late model Italian cars think the electrics are a problem but they are not in this car. It has proven completely reliable with the only fault being a flat battery from the tracker system installed by

All the best of an exotic with everyday driveability. Amazing, Amazing car by Masfan from SF on 01/24/2007. Trim: 2006 Maserati GranSport Spyder, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: Fun factor - completely off the charts. Great value.
Cons: poor radio, poor am antenna (with replaced radio), navigation so bad the dealers say they don't bother ordering cars with it, wind noise with top up (inexcusable in this day and age), trade off of race car handling is a pretty rough ride, no blue tooth, no cup holders, guzzles gas.
Overall review: Drive this car once and you are hooked. The exhaust sound is nothing short of intoxicating. Handling, acceleration, F1 transmission - you know that this car is special every time you drive it. Interior short on some electronics, but that actually lends to the elegance. Great interior actually, more comfortable than it looks and very beautiful. Sure it has some shortcomings listed above, but to me they don't even register compared to the unmitigated joy of driving it. Has more soul than any car in its class.
