Realistic Review by Hundred Lover from Minnesota on 11/19/2011. Trim: 2007 Ford Five Hundred Limited FWD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: The best bang for the buck. I bought this car when it was a year old, with 8,000 miles on it, for a song. The side view mirrors cannot be beat for rear vision. The car has virtually no blind spots, as the way the windows are laid out, one can see in all directions with absolutely no difficulty. As to hauling........back seats fold down flat, passenger front seat folds flat, so one, as did I, can carry 8ft dimensional lumber with ease, with the trunk lid shut! To date, this is the most dependable, capable, roadworthy car I have owned. Sound system is great, as are the audio controls on the steering wheel. Extra compartment on dash top is a plus
Cons: Going through the Rockies. Would like to have shift capabilities other than screaming downshifts. OEM wiper blades were originally a trillion dollars each, but now aftermarket choices are available for much cheaper.
Overall review: Excellent sedan for the money, bar none. If you want Maserati like characteristics in a sedan, then buy a Maserati. If one is looking for a basically wonderful sedan, that can do it all, for a great price, then, this is it. Should not have brought back the Taurus brand name for this car, though I had a Taurus, which served me very well, this is a step......and a large one at that, beyond that car.

A solidly-built value for the money. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/20/2012. Trim: 2007 Ford Five Hundred SEL FWD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: The interior room is good, and I have had 5 adults with luggage for long trips of 4-5 hours with everyone arriving refreshed. The trunk is huge, and the fold-down function allows use of interior space. Ride is excellent, handling good. I have had one warranty repair in 45,000 miles of driving, and that was to replace brakes due to early wear. That was at 11,000 miles and the last service showed brakes still better than 50%. Sound system is very good, and strg wheel controls are a great safety feature. My local Ford dealer does a fantastic job, and I should know as I worked in automotive dealer service management for over 25 years. This is my first Ford, and will not be my last.
Cons: 6 speed transmission is a little busy in hilly terrain, and could use better management. The automatic climate control is a little "iffy" in cooling the car down fast enough in really hot weather, and I think it is a compressor apply duty cycle issue that could be programmed out, but it's not a big deal. After the interior is cooled, it works fine. Only other thing is that the mudflaps should have been made flexible as they are low enough to be a target for shopping center curbs, sharp dips, etc.
Overall review: This is the most trouble-free vehicle I have ever owned.

Great family sedan by Bob on 03/27/2010. Trim: 2007 Ford Five Hundred SEL AWD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: This has been the most trouble free vehicle I've ever owned and I've owned several toyota's. Fit and finish are excellent. Styling is average but space and accessability of controls are great. Fuel economy has been better than advertised. I recently got over 31 miles per gallon on a long trip with air conditioning on.
Cons: It could use some more power but that is not a real shortcoming.
Overall review: The best family sedan I have ever owned.

taurus 500 by Kevin from east Tennessee on 09/20/2012. Trim: 2007 Ford Five Hundred Limited FWD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Very comfortable and I look foward to driving it
Cons: The trunk doesn't pop open very well when the button is pushed
Overall review: I think the car has plenty of power, it is not a performance car, but it does move well when requuired. Space is enormous inside and in the trunk. overall looks of the car is elegant. I also think they should have at least kept 500 at the end of Taurus when they changed the name.
