Sell before transmission goes - 100K miles DOA
by 2nd Thoughts from SoCal. on 12/15/2011.
Trim: 2006 Nissan Frontier SE King Cab 2WD, Owned 5 years.
4
Pros:
Great Truck for 5 years, bought it new off the dealer lot and have had no major issues. till It hit 100K miles.
Cons:
Turning radius is not great. The passenger seats shakes when empty
Biggest problem is Transmission failure at 100K miles and radiator failure due to bad design and Nissan's failure to inform owners of problem. Radiator fluid leaks into transmission and ruins the transmission.
Overall review:
Great truck till 100K miles, sell before you get to 80K miles. Wish I had sold it. $5,000 in repairs for Nissan defect.

The Transmission WILL Fail!
by FormerNissanFan from Kansas City on 09/05/2012.
Trim: 2006 Nissan Frontier SE King Cab 2WD, Owned 4 years.
3
Pros:
Powerful, agile, well-equipped and it handles great up to about 100k
Cons:
Nissan knows and is planning to do nothing about a catastrophic transmission failure that happens at about 100k when the coolant begins leaking into the tranny causing it to fail and ruining the radiator and fouling the cooling system in the process. In just a few more years, there will be none of these left on the road as the cost to fix this problem is upwards of $6,000 and more than 2/3 the total value of the vehicle here in 2012. In a couple more years, the cost to fix the transmission will be greater than the value of the truck.
Overall review:
Don't buy this truck, it's a lemon! Unless you want to buy mine, I'll give you a heck of a deal on it!

Nissans Dump Truck
by Dean from Boise on 01/07/2013.
Owned 5 years.

Pros:
It was my dream truck! Nissan yellow with off road package! The power is excellent and the styling is great.
Cons:
I was in love with this truck until it turned 104,000 miles. Then the coolant line ruptured and ruined the tranny. Nissan will do nothing about it, so I am stuck with either a huge repair bill, or a dead truck. I am amazed that Nissan has no concern for the customers that thought they were a great company. I can assure you that I will never buy another Nissan product as long as I live.
Overall review:
Save yourself the headache and don't buy this truck!
