Pros:
Silky acceleration. Awesome Seats. Tremendous handling and ride characteristics.
Cons:
Would like a slightly larger trunk. perhaps some more exhaust note.
Overall review:
Car Rides better than any other car I've ever driven. And I've driven many cars ranging from American luxury to German performance cars. The acceleration is deceptively fast, since it feels almost too smooth to notice. But then after what seems like a split second, you've already hit 65 and the power surge just continues unfettered.

RL replaces TL in my garage....
by Mike on 09/08/2006.
Trim: 2006 Acura RL Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Refined ride. Handles well without being harsh. Abundant technology. Understated tasteful and modern styled exterior. Elegant & Techno interior design. Quiet, rattle free (I traded an 05 Acura TL NAVI because of rattles). RL is assembled in Japan. Feels, sounds, rides like a premium vehicle. SHAWD is seamless and driving is neutral (no torgue steer either). Honda / Acura pleases me with smart vehicles, wonderful engines, technology and great balance of value, content and construction. Excellent deals on 06's making the RL an unbeatable flagship / premium vehicle.
Cons:
I find it odd this vehicle does not sell better. However, that afforded a great deal and hopefully tempers 1st year depreciation. It has all the features I could want, perhaps cooled seats in Florida would be ideal.
Overall review:
I am a Honda & Toyota fan. I like to drive the Germans, but have not done well with reliability, especially in electronics & technology. I think the Japanese do that better. Now the Japanese vehicles are not perfect, and I admit owning an 05 Acura TL (assembled in the US) had rattle and assembly issues. It is everything I loved about the TL and much more. I must say I think Japanese assembly is noticably better than US (even for Japan monikers). Particularly fit, feel and materials are what I expected from Acura. The TL missed the mark here (although a great ride and more a performance ride). The RL may not compete well at $50K, but deals in the low $40K range is very, very appealing. The engine is remarkable, the SHAWD is seamless and confidence inpriring, and highway economy is very reasonable for a heavy sedan. If you love technology, the RL will not diappoint...however this car can be driven and enjoyed without being dependent on the extensive features.

Pros:
I replace my 2002 Lexus LS 430 on Acura RL Technology package.
So the RL employs some of the industry's most innovative active safety technologies . The RL's Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) will tighten front seat belts and automatically apply the brakes if an impending collision is detected. Michelin ® PAX® System Run-Flat Tire technology, which allows you to keep driving in a controlled manner for up to 125 miles at 50 mph, even if there's a complete loss of tire pressure. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) will hold your selected speed, modulating the throttle and applying moderate braking if necessary.
Cons:
Nothing.
Overall review:
10-speaker Bose® audio system, glove-soft, leather, and all the connectivity you need to avoid traffic, find that obscure restaurant, and host that conference call—without ever taking your hands from the wheel. Luxury extends well beyond the interior as well with the RL's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™) system, which leverages the framework of conventional all-wheel drive systems, but extends the technology to the next level, offering unprecedented cornering agility. The RL's Active Noise Cancellation system (ANC) can reduce unwanted cabin noise by as much as 10dB, countering it with opposing sound frequencies from the audio system. The sun streams in and your temperature starts to rise. But the RL's sun sensors are standing by to keep you cool. The road feels even faster when you apply the latest technology to an already gutsy performer. 290-horsepower powerplant, a Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™) system, and a sophisticated 4-wheel independent suspension system

Classy Ride

Pros:
After extensive research in numerous vehicles it came down to eithe the Audi A6 or the Acura RL. The audi A6 3.2 was nice but I found it kid of cramped in the drivers seat, and the options I wanted took it out to 52k. The RL had all the options and I managed to get the wood stearing wheel and shifter all for $43,700 and this includes standard nav and surround sound. I am old school so I like the shifter on the floor and at around 60 MPH when I down shifted this car took off like lighning. Most of its power comes from the top end so unless you are trying to destory someone at the light this car really goes and around corners with the all wheel drive there is no comparison.
Cons:
Would like a little low end torque, but my guess is without a V8 you won't get that, but really that is slight because it is still quick off he line unless you are racing a 5.0 Mustang with Nitric oxide tanks.
Overall review:
The Audi A6 and Infiniti M35 are very nice cars but when you add options the price is too steep for what you get with the RL and the RL tunrns heads. Mine is black with tan interior and it turns heads. If I were you and you are spending this kind of money try this out. I did race a Chrysler 300C twice and beat tem long range both times.

A Fantastic Buy
by Blake on 06/03/2006.
Trim: 2006 Acura RL Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
The RL has a terrific combination of features. After looking at the Audi A6, BMW 5, Infinity M, and the new Lexus ES350 (all obviously very nice cars), we found none of them could match the RL’s total package of style, technology, power, and attention to detail. Everything in the RL seems so well thought out – the technology is functional and easy to use. The car drives so well – so solid – and handles beautifully. The SH-AWD will be great in the winter. Finally – the sound system is the best I have ever heard…remarkable really.
Cons:
So far mileage is only so-so. We are getting about 18 in the city and about 24 on mostly highway.
Overall review:
I am extremely pleased with the RL, and it can be had for a bargain right now. When compared to others cars in its class, the RL can be purchased in the low 40’s – and in my view it is the best total package of the lot even with most of the others demanding between $47.000 and $52,000.
I am getting lots of comments about the RL – it is nice to drive a car that is not seen in every parking lot. A young man at a Sonic walked up the other day and asked, “What kind of car is that?” After I told him and after he stared at it a bit longer, he said, “Wow – you must be rich.” I responded with a laugh that not so much, but I buy nice thinks at a great price. That about sums it up right now with regard to the RL.
