A Quality Fast Wagon At Less $ Than Other's in the Mid-Sized Catagory by Kayaker from Montana on 11/14/2007. Trim: 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.5 GT Limited, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Excelleration when passing on two lanes is excellent. The less time in the on comming lane is a safety issue to me. Stereo is very good if you install the Subie sub-woofer. Love the extra large moon roof. The simplicity of folding down the rear seats is great. Very precise and predictable steering.
Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but this is the turbo, and with today's gas prices the premium gas bite the wallet more. On long drives whish I had a armrest, although this is a option, I think it should have come with the car. I also would like to see more storage space like I saw in the front and back doors on the VW Passat I tried out before buying this. The body panels seem very thin and are prone to denting but most cars are now a days.
Overall review: This is a very good looking, fast and fun driving car that is substantally less money than other cars that produce this kind of horsepower (250). I have driven mine 19000 miles in less than a year and have had zero problems. My wagon is very quite at highway speeds although I have a roof rack for my boats causes some noise.

A Great Car by DPK121 on 06/22/2007. Trim: 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.5 i Special Edition, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great economy, I avg. just over 30mpg with this car. It's fun to drive, handles well for a wagon. The huge sunroof is great and the special edition package really makes it look like a more expensive car. Definitely money well spent. Never thought I would get as many looks as I have driving a station wagon!
Cons: NO 5-SPEED FOR THE TURBO! I would have purchased the turbo wagon if it had a 5-speed. If you don't wash it often, drainage stains will appear below the doors and will require scrubbing to remove. A/C fan is a little weak, hi-power seems more like a mid-power for previous cars I have owned.
Overall review: I love this car. I've put 21,000 miles on it in just over 1 year of ownership. I plan on keeping it for a long time and would recommend it to anyone.

A very happy owner by Steve, Toronto, Ontario on 12/20/2006. Trim: 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.5 i Special Edition, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Very nimble handling. Solid on the road, wet or dry. Excellent cornering without much body roll. Smoooooth acceleration. Very fast accelaration when switch to manual mode (Tiptronics). Very well build. A top down solid car. have driven 30,000 miles in one year without a single problem. Very roomy trucnk space, once you fold flat the rear seats
Cons: CD doesn't play MP3. But 07 model does. The moonroof is in two pieces with front piece flipping up. When on the highway, it is too noisy to keep the moonroof open because of the flipped-up front piece.
Overall review: Overall, this is the best car I had and I will run it to the ground. Couldn't be happier with the pirce I paid for this.

Look out, Audi! by Mark in Ottawa, Canada on 11/08/2006. Trim: 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.5 i, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Performance, comfort, safety, and interior trim are greatly improved over our 1998 Legacy Brighton wagon (still going strong at 170,000 miles). Outstanding crash test ratings in all categories. The sportshift automatic transmission is easy to use and offers practical advantages in poor driving conditions. The base 2006 model comes with a long list of useful features as standard equipment--exceptionally well-equipped for the money, and fun to drive!
Cons: The 17" Yokohama tires work well in most conditions but are useless in snow and expensive to replace. Owners in the snow belt should budget for 16" Subaru winter rims and matching 205/55R 16 snow tires. Front seats may be too firm for some (try them on an extended test drive) and rear seat room is cramped. Fuel efficiency is OK, but less than the official ratings indicate. The standard warranty is barely adequate, and AWD repairs will be pricey without extended coverage. Although the headlights are much improved, consider negotiating for a deal on the optional fog lights as part of the purchase price.
Overall review: It's obvious that Subaru is now positioning the Legacy as an affordable alternative to Audi wagons--and with considerable success. Features, trim quality, comfort and performance are greatly improved over earlier base models. Nothing in its price class came close to offering this combination of safety, standard features and build quality. Look for a new or demo 2006, which will be better equipped than the equivalent 2007 base model and should be available at attractive financing rates from Subaru dealers.
