I like the way people look at it. by Herm on 01/28/2011. Trim: 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0, Owned 5 years.
Cons: Recall on the remote entry key, 15 minute fix. Low milage on the original tires, less than 20K.
Overall review: I enjoy seeing the people looking at it, not too many around. Most of my driving is in the mountains in NE Pa., it has power and the gas milage is better than any other car that I owned.

Great Value Jaguar by Jason on 05/22/2010. Trim: 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Contrary to another reveiw on here that said the engine sounds like a deisel Benz.. Maybe because they had a 2.5? The engine note is great. Accelerates and cruises just fine. Looks like a million bucks. Jaguar service has been good through the warranty and I would say better than expected. Space is completely adequate and the price point on these vehicles is awesome. Bang for the buck factor is definately there and most people have no idea that it's not an extremely expensive car.
Cons: Fuel door issues. The cable has to be lubed every year or so. Fuel door is made out of plastic. Cup holders are small.
Overall review: As I said above - great value. It's a very good looking car. I get compliments on it almost everytime I drive it. Don't expect it to be full of electronic gizmos becasue it's not. But I would say that the interior is very functional and decent looking. If you're looking for an executive look at a everyday car price, this should work for you.

I like this car by CT Gemini29 on 12/11/2007. Trim: 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Vehicle recognition, feel safe driving it...built tough, great braking power, love the gerth and feel of steering wheel.
Cons: Trunk latch...when trunk is open, I continually bang my head on the locking mechanizim because it's too low. CD player only holds 1 disk. Cup holders can't hold water bottle without it tipping over when turning corner. Doesn't come with rear heated seats.
Overall review: I've owned this car for 18 mos. No mechanical problems. Drives like a dream and I'm proud to own it.

X Sport-approaching true "value" vehicle at entry-level luxury price point by Michael from NoVa on 09/10/2007. Trim: 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0, Owned 2 years.
Pros: I have a 2006 X-Sport-second X, replacing a 2002 2.5 I drove for 60,000 (mstly) commuter miles metro DC. Style is classic Handling of Sport is much tighter than 2.5. Suade sport seats are firmer than X, but after getting used to--with 12-way with lumbar, the most driver friendly seats ever. I am 6-3 and 275, a lot of sporty cars are not comfortable--distance from wheel, and long-term driving postion-- Not so in X-type--tho it impinges on behind-driver back seat passenger (even w/ seat back verticle), with seat set fully towards rear, there is ample room for my long legs for a comfortable driving position on 9 hour sprints to Boston or 2 hour drives on 95 to Richmond.
Cons: #1--Sport's plastic ground effects poorly attached, and (compared e.g. to BMW/Porsche 911) 1 1/2 " lower to ground-snag on ramps, pkg barriers, other 4" obstacles&bottom out on D.C.' s potholes. After 20k miles, chopped up/shereded, to be replaced. Adding cosmetic, and then designing it so casually is silly. Xsport is very distinctive from std X; like S-R and XJ R, could command xtra $ easily, if it were done best-in-breed, rather than "expedient" materials. Would appreciate observations on front-endtrim from other '06-'07 XSport owners. Other mini-gripes-Carbon fibre dash door inserts -- "different" from wood-but for additional $-distinctive wood better ?; likewise -steering wheel.
Overall review: Will buy this car again, especially if ground effects, few other trim (crummy carpeting) issues are addresed. Space (huge trunk/fold down rear split seats), comfort (driver seats, electronics, air/heat/drriving postion/high end audio), performance are superior to other near-luxury competition, and even if purchased by Tata, Jaguar dealer net in U.S. will likely continue to provide Ford-level service that makes ownership rational, rather than act of faith.

its a nice car by lee NEW MEXICO on 03/17/2006. Trim: 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0, Owned 1 year.
Pros: nice looking car, I have a 2002 2.5 and the performance is good. The interior has a upper class look.
Cons: Had some problems with window washers leaking, sticking trunk lid,air vents that would pop up, a drivers seat that felt loose, and the shifter would make a funny sound at times. All were fixed at the dealer that gave us fantastic sevice!
Overall review: Nice car to own, good gas mileage, great dealer service, no more problems with the car, have just ben taking it to the dealer for oil chages when it needs it.
