keep it forever--love it
by Dog people-Colorado on 11/07/2001.
Trim: 1989 GMC Suburban 1500 4WD, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
Reliable--never lets us down. Over 160 K miles and only minor stuff to repair. It has the "suburban howl", but still no symptoms of needing repair. Will go anywhere in comfort and haul anything you need.
Cons:
It has a starcraft package--pain in the ****; other than that, nothing.
Overall review:
Would recommend this car/truck to anyone who wants safe, comfortable, dependable transportation for their family, dogs, equipment--whatever.

"Makes me Proud"
by Heavy Hauler in Virginia on 11/02/2005.
Trim: 1989 GMC Suburban 1500 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
It has very pleasing quality, utility and comfort without wasted "plush" appointments. You feel you're showing off a lot of quality with no silly "perfume" to it. It's a sure pleaser except around someone you wouldn't want to associate with anyway. BUY IT!
Cons:
My fuel milage is 11.2mpg.
Overall review:
Solid value.

Cons:
gas hog. big. watch out for small roads.
Overall review:
great vehicle and general workhorse. can take a beating quite well. mine has walked away from more than a couple pretty serious accidents with little more wrong than a dented door.

Trim: 1989 GMC Suburban 2500 4WD, Owned 5 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Built to last. Pulls heavy trailers no problem up hill. A lot of room for many items and family members.
Cons:
Transmission shifts hard, interior headliner falling down.
Overall review:
Ride is a little rough but it is a truck, it still is strong after 160m miles.
